Tuesdays and daylight savings suck. You deserve a bacon hug. We're here 'til 4pm.
If ever there was a Jethro's Day, today's it! It’s Shrove Tuesday or the Day of Pancakes!!! Tune into CBC Radio One in a few minutes at 7:20AM to hear our own D’Arcy Allen confess all his own flapjack sins! FYI: Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from the old middle English word 'Shriven' meaning to go to confession to say sorry for the wrong things you've done. Lent always starts on a Wednesday, so people went to confessions... on the day before. This became known as Shriven Tuesday and then Shrove Tuesday. The other name for this day, Pancake Day, comes from the old English custom of using up all the fattening ingredients in the house before Lent, so that people were ready to fast during Lent. The fattening ingredients that most people had in their houses in those days were eggs and milk. A very simple recipe to use up these ingredients was to combine them with some flour and make pancakes! See more

Thar be drinkin' in yer future. Q. Know what goes better with our Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict than a FAT TUG IPA? A. Nothin'. Absolutely nothin'.... Brewed with the hop aficionado in mind, Fat Tug is a Northwest-style India Pale Ale with an intense hop profile featuring notes of grapefruit, mango, melon and passionfruit. Sufficient malt is there to provide support. At 7% alc/vol and 80+ IBUs this beer delivers on the promise to satisfy anyone with a thirst for all things hoppy. Our Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict is two poached eggs with wild and perfectly smoked salmon on an English muffin with hollandaise. If you've never had a SS Benny you're in for treat.
