'Christmas on Wheels', filmed in the area last summer, premiers tonight on the W Channel. Watch the trailer below. You'll recognize Robinsville, Washington, as Arnprior, Ontario. The Hallmark Christmas movie plot is typically predictable... but isn't that why we love them so much?

On this day in 1947, 73 years ago In a lavish wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London, Princess Elizabeth married her distant cousin, Philip Mountbatten - a dashing former prince of Greece and Denmark who renounced his titles in order to marry the English princess. The Queen, who’s 94, and her husband, Prince Philip, who’s 99, are celebrating 73 years of marriage today, and the palace has released a new picture taken at Windsor Castle. It shows Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip looking at a homemade card from great-grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The heartwarming charming image was taken in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle earlier this week.

If you’re getting your Christmas card mailing list together and you need to purchase stamps earlier this week, Canada Post unveiled three new holiday stamps featuring the festive paintings of Nova Scotia folk artist Maud Lewis. They really are attractive and would be a nice touch on the envelope. Maud Lewis was born in South Ohio, Nova Scotia, and began her artistic career as a child, painting Christmas cards with scenes like the ones on those stamps and selling them door to door. Although she worked in poverty, physical pain and obscurity for many years, she never stopped painting. Maud Lewis finally started to receive national and international acclaim in the 1960s, and today her work is treasured by collectors. The stamps are now available on Canada Post’s website and in stores.

COVID-19 Update: Cases Could Skyrocket - New Modelling Numbers Canada's chief public health officer says there's ``urgency'' to bring infections down as officials released dire new forecasts indicating that COVID-19 case counts have far surpassed levels seen during the first wave.... Dr. Theresa Tam says COVID-19 cases could skyrocket to 60,000 per day by the end of the year if Canadians increase their contact rates. The forecasts predict that at current rates Canada's case total could land between 366,500 and 378,600 and the death toll could fall between 11,870 and 12,120 by the end of the month. The modelling predicts that at current rates of contact, Canada is careening towards a surge of more than 20,000 cases per day by the end of December. But if socialization increases, the projections indicate that as 2020 draws to a close, Canada could see twelvefold increase from the current level of around 5,000 cases per day, which is already straining the health-care system in some regions.
