After filling and sanding a few stain options were made. First time using @saman_stain. We went with what I believe is close to what the mix chart is calling Tin. One part black and few parts white. After tops and bottoms are glued together then cleaned up to size with tracksaw tablesaw and flush bit. None of this is pictured. What is pictured is the 45 chamfer bit I hit all the finished edges with. I like to attach my solid fronts with a furniture joint of sorts. The solid 3/4 thick front gets the chamfer on all 4 corners The next step at slightly overkill is using Colin’s ply prep on the top and bottom. Then I took a grinder with a sanding disc and slightly hit the... center of the shelf edge as the 2 1/4 thickness left a high center. Next for the shelves is building the carcass. 1/2 ply top and bottom with 3/4 plywood for the internal ribs. Using the third arm to get a slight bit more room to slide the beam in. The recess was bigger at the top then the bottom which is not ideal. So in the end I needed to carve out a bit of drywall on one end so I could slide the beam in past the surface of the drywall and not damage the corner bead.
