FUN FACT Oil change intervals aren’t due just by the mileage, they are also due by time as well We had a 2012 Chevrolet come in today that left their car sitting for a year.. although they had not driven the vehicle much and left it sitting, the oil change still should’ve been done, as the oil that sits slowly turns into sludge, especially with the bipolar Canadian weather.... recommendation? Oil changes should be done 5000-8000km or 3-5 months, depending on the vehicle for optimum maintenance. As you can see, there’s still a lot of sludge buildup even after the oil change!
