Jiggs Electrical & Contracting

The Back Office Previous to construction this was a small room, with white cupboards, brown walls, and a standard sized door leading into the shop. Jiggs removed a wall which opened it up to the showroom and created a back office behind the front desk. We installed a larger, two-way steel door that leads into the shop so larger items can be brought into the showroom with ease. We also painted the cupboards and doors a matte black, and the walls grey.

Every showroom needs a flashy front desk! Jiggs built the desk with design instructions from the customer on length, cupboards, and practicality (ie. cashier stations) but we put our own twist on it! We spent quite a lot of time on buffing the stainless steel desk top into the shiny swirl design you see.... Jiggs completed the stucco on the front as well as the painting, including the company logo. We are very happy with how the desk turned out, and the customers were ecstatic! We love customizing and incorporating our own ideas into projects!

For the past two months we have been working hard on a commercial renovation. The Jiggs team spent many days customizing the work to meet the customers’ needs and we are excited to show off the results! The following is a small list of some of the work completed: Installing new lights in the showroom Taking down and rebuilding walls... Painting walls, ceiling, and cupboards Building and installing front desk Installing emergency lighting (exit signs) Replacing old plugs and switches Installing the company sign on the outside of the building These two photos show the before and after of the showroom. Before construction this area of the building was three separate rooms. We took down two walls to make it one large showroom. We had to re-do the ceiling grid as the old lights were larger, rectangular lights in which we replaced with the lovely square lights you can see in the pictures. The ceiling also had to be painted as it was discolored due to aging, dust, etc. As you can also see in the photos the building was painted a light brown. Jiggs spruced it up with fresh coats of paint! We installed slatted boards which were painted yellow and black (which can be seen in the photos). This is only a sneak peek of the job. Things are staring to shine Jiggs is currently working on a commercial project, which includes the installation of a 15ft stainless steel desk! We decided to throw our own little twist to it and began to shine it in this spiral design.

Another completed project! Hard to get a picture of this one as it’s so big! We are happy to have the deck finished and can’t wait for our clients to enjoy it!

Check out this cool heritage building that we’ve had the pleasure of working on! This building was built in 1989 and is part of the National Historic District in downtown Calgary! Did you know that Jiggs also had the pleasure of re-wiring and installing an elevator in the Didsbury Museum?

Ever wonder what our name Jiggs stands for? Well today is the day you finally get to know! Upon the creation of Jiggs Electrical and Contracting many names were brainstormed but non seemed to be the right fit for our company. We began thinking about what our company stood for and how important it was to our family, and that's when the name was born! Jiggs represents a family owned and operated company and company goals are deeply rooted in the values of our family! Therefo...re, Jigss stands for: J- Jeff I- Ian G - Gary G - Geraldine S - Stephanie Although our company started with our father, Gary and mother, Geraldine, it was inspired by our entire family! Since then each one of our family members have played an important role in many of our projects! Gary Griffiths, began his electrical career in 1980, he is a master electrician, a journeyman power systems electrician, and the brains behind our whole operation! Jeff Griffiths is currently a fourth year electrician learning as much as he can from our father and perfecting his craft! Ian helps out with many aspects of electrical, construction, and welding related tasks. Geraldine is the lady that keeps us all on track, our office manager! She also accompanies Gary to many of the job sites to help with construction and cleaning up of our job sites. And last but not least, Stephanie helps with electrical, painting, and other construction related tasks. Our family works hard and takes pride in every job we do! We love working together, and you’ll often catch us all rocking out to some good tunes while working away!

Check out this absolutely stunning renovated kitchen space! Jiggs was responsible for taking down walls, painting, installing/reinstalling lights, switches, and outlets, tiling, and installing the floor.
