Proud, proud therapist moment right here! This wonderful client of mine messaged me about a month back. She is undergoing treatment for cancer and the one side of her body, mainly leg, was very swollen. So swollen in fact she couldn’t wear a shoe on her foot.... So we have been doing lymphatic treatment only once a week for an hour. And today... she sends me this!!!!!! I am so proud and happy for her and this just made me the happiest RMT ever. Happy Monday Everyone! This little time is my favourite.. my me time! I got this adorable bamboo stand for Xmas and I use it so much for work.... I take the time to compose myself, gather my thoughts for the day and the week, relax my brain with something like of course Drag Race and allow my nerves to settle. As everyone knows my anxiety is very tough. It’s draining and I battle with it every minute of the day. People wonder why I work so much or why I don’t take more time off.. it’s because my anxiety can take over sometimes. I’m working on it like everyone else! Being in lockdown doesn’t help but at least I’m so happy to be deemed essential and help others as it helps me immensely.. not just because of my career but for my own mental health. I know I say this often but I am so grateful and lucky. I have such an amazing clientele and forever getting calls saying I’ve got your name from so and so and I hear I will love you! This warms my heart. This makes me feel like that all my hard work I’ve done to get here was so beyond worth it! ... I also hate asking for help. The one big, big conversation I have with every client... pressure! . So a lot of people think, the deeper the pressure the better. This statement is very false. Yes pressure is something most enjoy but it can cause more harm then good if not performed and executed properly.... . I myself am a deep tissue therapist. I am strong. Been told that quite a bit. I have clients tell me there’s no way it can be too much. And yes, yes there can be. . Pressure should never be above a 7. It can cause more damage than good.
