My heart hurts today. It hurts for the human race and what we have to do in order to have people listen. It hurts for every single group of people that has been oppressed, neglected, and not treated with love and respect. Being mixed myself I’ve gotten the tiniest glimpse of what it was like to be different. I grew up in a small town in Southern Alberta and was a part of the Japanese community there - there were lots of us, but you could feel the divide between the different ...groups of people. I always thought it was ridiculous and couldn’t understand why we couldn’t all just get along and be friends. All of my life, people I meet ask what are you or to assume they know things about me because I am mixed when they don’t even know me at all, and it hurt. But I know I’ve only experienced a small taste of the cruelty that is really out there. There is so much hatred in the world, hatred for people just because we LOOK different. This doesn’t make sense to me! How fucking ridiculous are we!! We all have beautiful HUMAN souls who all deserve respect and love. How is this so hard? So, to every single group that has been oppressed, but especially to my fellow humans of the black community, I will always love you, I see you, and I’m sorry. No person should ever feel less just because of how they look. Take me back to Greece, where the weather was beautiful (even when it was stormy), the views were stunning and the only thing I had to worry about was taking beautiful pictures of this gal @therichcoach Around this time last year, Kait and I set sail on what was a whirlwind of a 2 weeks adventure. She was hosting a coaching retreat for a few of her clients IN GREECE and I was fortunate enough to tag along and be able to capture the experience along the way. Those 2 weeks abs...olutely flew by, with us visiting places like Rome, Naxos, Santorini and Kriti. We saw goats climbing on cars, sipped wine on the rooftops as the sun set, sailed through the coves on turquoise waters, ate delicious pastries, and truly lived every moment to its fullest. It’s hard to believe now, as I sit at my desk in Canada, that it was even real... but as I scroll through my pictures on my phone... all I can do is think fondly back on that time. A time where the only thing that was on my mind was taking photographs - this is where I’m happiest. @ Naxos Island
