In these odd times,,, I found myself in a strange place when it comes to #BLM. I hadn’t gotten violent or obvious negative treatment but it’s always come in subtle undertones in a few interactions along the way. Being a Trinidadian artist that comes from an extremely multi-cultural nation with issues that are much broader than #BLM, coming to the north where Black is usually any combination that is not white, indigenous or Pure something. I feel... Different... They say that I’m different, That I’m not like the rest. But what makes me different If it’s all the same test. Just because I wear a smile Doesn’t mean that some things done hurt inside. There’s a lot, a lot, a lot that’s going on, But I feel like there’s no point When everyone’s singing the same song like Stop! Don’t shoot me! My hands are in the air! Why are you looking at me As if you don’t care? Do you feel different now? Have you found your place with #BLM movement Do you know how to find your voice during the #BLM pandemic? Do you want to steer clear of the #BLM because you just don’t know what to do about it? Do you try to convince yourself that you can’t, or it’s not about you? Should I expand and produce this song?? Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the music that is playing in the background that I just picked randomly.
