As a volunteer Wish Grantor for Make-A-Wish we are working hard to provide kids with a life threatening Illness their Dream Wish. My latest Wish was from an 18 year old boy with leukaemia to be given a shopping spree so he could look cool. That included a gold chain and @michaelhillj jewellers at the Upper Canada Mall gave us such a fantastic deal on this gold chain for E. There are still some clothes and an iwatch to be delivered to him but this was his number 1 request. E’s going to look so cool in his new clothes, just like his favourite rapper Drake!

Restaurants are still open for take out and it’s important to support your local restaurants. @hbhgoodeatsco offers some great family meals or one of my favorites is their charcuterie platter which you can enjoy with a glass of wine. It’s one of those days when you just have to make Scones! I’m dropping some off to my neighbour George with a Timmy card to say thanks for snow blowing my driveway yesterday. The scones are Lemon Cranberry and the recipe is from a scone making class that I took at the St Lawrence Market. I’m not a baker but I have mastered these scones! Yummy

The kitchen is one room where you really need a sense of how well it'll work for your family and lifestyle. During a virtual video tour of the kitchen, ask for a close up on the appliances, open doors and check inside for things like damaged racks, shelving, seals, and hardware. Measure countertops to see how much prep space is really available, along with islands, bar stool height, and dining space. Zoom in on the sink and the area on both sides to determine if there'...s enough room to store dish drainers and small appliances. Look under the sink and near the dishwasher and refrigerator waterlines to spot any leaks. Examine the ceiling, floors, windows and light fixtures. Pay attention to the detailseven the smallest ones can make a big difference.

The living room is one of the most important spaces to inspect when you're house hunting, but how do you get a complete picture when you're not even there? Ask your agent these questions when virtually touring the living room: Does the front door open into the living room immediately or is there a foyer that leads the way?... Are there any obstacles such as small doorways or stairs? How many windows and doors are in the living room? Get a closer look at the windows. Do you hear intrusive or disruptive sounds like traffic noise, dogs barking, or a train horn? Do you smell any odors? What type of flooring and what condition is it in? How high is the ceiling? Get a closer look at the lighting. Does anything need to be replaced like a ceiling fan, sconces, and other attached lighting, or add new lighting? Get a closer look at the fireplace. Does it work? Is it gas, wood-burning, or something else? If it's wood-burning, when was the last time the chimney was serviced? Get a closer look at the quality of the finishes from paint to baseboards and crown moldings, flooring, draperies or window coverings, and custom built-ins. See more
