Jim Ternier for Humboldt-Watrous 20.01.2021

We are dedicated to building a thriving and healthy Saskatchewan for our children and their children. That means we are committed to long-term, practical solutions for a sustainable and prosperous future. To accomplish this, we must have the courage to confront the major challenges we face: a flawed political system, fiscal peril, job and food insecurity, growing income inequality, a cumbersome approach to health care, the climate crisis, and ecological decline. The Green Par...ty represents a new approach: an opportunity to change, for the better, our politics, our communities, and our economy. The Green vision reflects sustainability, social justice and respect. We believe that our people have the ingenuity and the will to build a prosperous and just society, with an economy that provides work for all, while respecting the natural world and our place within it. Real change engages all the possibilities of who we are. Saskatchewan Green Party Naomi Hunter Victor Lau www.saskgreen.ca/donate https://youtu.be/YAzcuKymTRs

My name is Jim Ternier and I am the Green Party candidate for Humboldt-Watrous. I was born in North Battleford and grew up on the family farm north of there. After obtaining a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Saskatchewan, I spent several years in Europe, four of which were spent living in Jean Vanier’s l’Arche community near Paris, resulting in improving my French oui, je suis un canadien bilingue. I returned to the farm in 1977 and two years later married my wif...e of 40+ years Marie-Louise, who hails from the Netherlands. We are proud parents to three adult children and have three lovely granddaughters. Upon my return to the family farm, I became a market gardener and slowly started growing garden seeds for sale. This became full-time work and gave birth to Prairie Garden Seeds which is now over 35 years old. As most of our sales occur in Saskatchewan and Alberta I consider myself a regional seedsman, although our online catalogue allows customers from all over the world to find our seeds. In 2005 my wife and I moved to Humboldt in response to an invitation to garden at St. Peter's Benedictine Abbey in Muenster. Our daughter Rachelle came to work with me after her university studies and her own 2-year stay in Europe. She has now taken over Prairie Garden Seeds and moved the business back to the family farm near Cochin. Together, with other family and a few friends, we grow over 90% of the varieties we offer in our seed catalogue. I am a firm believer in healthy land-based living in ways that can help boost a regional economy. Covid-19, while destabilizing the global economy, is resulting in increased interest in home-grown and locally grown food. I believe this could be a very good development arising from the current health crisis, and I want to support government policies that encourage us in this direction.

Saskatchewan Green Party Pledges Full Health Benefits for All It is a tragedy what Premier Moe has done here. His government has wasted millions on consultants..., and privatized services. He's destroyed jobs, and weakened access to healthcare in rural Saskatchewan. exclaimed Naomi Hunter, Leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party. The best way to reverse the privatization of healthcare is to fund it properly. The Saskatchewan Green Party pledges to expand provincial coverage to include all health services like Dental, Optical and Mental Health coverage as well as complementary and alternative healing practices. We need to look after everyone in this province, and a government that approaches healthcare more holistically is the way forward. assures Hunter. We must invest in what works people, not privateers. Saskatchewan is the birthplace of medicare in North America, but over the decades it's faltered. The Saskatchewan Green Party will reverse that trend and build on our collective healthcare legacy. "My work with seniors in this province is a daily reminder that without health, we have nothing." states Hunter. for more info contact Naomi Hunter at 1-306-561-8880 [email protected]
