Today is the International Day of Pink a day to celebrate diversity and unite against homophobia, transphobia and all forms of bullying. International Day of Pink’s purpose is to create a more inclusive and diverse world. Understanding that discrimination can happen to many individuals, the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community is no stranger to the bullying and violence that stem from hateful beliefs.

As we go into the weekend, some of you might be doing some holiday shopping. If you are in a position to do so, please consider picking up an extra toy and donating it to the Toy Mountain Ottawa campaign. You can drop off your toy at any of the following locations listed here on the CTV Ottawa Morning Live website: https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/t/toy-mountain-drop-off-locations Without the traditional Help Santa Toy Parade happening this year, due to COVID-19, there is a greater need to receive donations to ensure every child receives a toy on Christmas.

Today we’re going live with staff’s proposal for the Stage 3 Barrhaven Extension, so we can bring the benefits of LRT to Ottawa's fastest growing community. The report will be considered by the Transportation Committee on November 2nd. With seven stations and a new Park and Ride lot at Barrhaven Town Centre, this link will provide over 11,000 trips per day, helping us remove cars from our roads and reduce congestion and greenhouse gases. It also includes grade-separations wi...th the VIA Rail line and the two heavily-used roadways of Woodroffe and Fallowfield, which are key safety features of the project.
