It’s not new that I’m a huge supporter of mental health awareness and advocacy especially surrounding music and events culture. I was very happy that @lemmonent asked me to play a small piece in this production and even happier it’s your first introduction to @thehubintoronto. Losttapeslive.com @someone Notable artists and mental health advocates will band ...together in a free virtual broadcast on Thursday, March 25 at 8 p.m. ET to shine a light on the music industry’s mental health crisis. The Lost Tapes Live broadcast, produced by Lemmon Entertainment and recorded at Toronto-based studio The HUB, will be hosted by Canadian music journalist Alan Cross. The #LostTapesLive will feature performances by Jon Harvey (Monster Truck), Tyler Shaw, Francesco Yates, Alexander Saint, Command Sisters, and the GoodBones, as well as guest appearances from Andrew Hyatt, JoJo Mason, renowned guitarist Dan Kanter (Justin Bieber), country artist Madeline Merlo and Juno-nominated artist Fefe Dobson. The Lost Tapes Live will also feature several prominent musicians, music industry professionals, and mental health experts, as we explore the inexorable link between music and mental health.

Time flies when...you don’t have to put on real pants every day? Well, I did today to join the @lemmonent @operahouseto and @prg.north.america crew to start loading in the project I am SO excited to be a part of @thehubintoronto. It’s #internationalwomensday. OK. Here is part of my (jives) story. I have been pretty vocal about supporting women since I became a female business owner at 15. I promoted concerts supported by my all female team. I started an entire new series to support some of the women on stage that I met and wanted to create a space for. I pushed for space in a male dominated live music industry that STILL has many issues to resolve. As I’ve gotten older I take the time to learn and bu...y from female founded brands and artists (tagged a couple here even though you can’t see two of them.) I saw (and still see) women paid less, treated differently and with less respect all the time. Please don’t call me hunny or dear if you want to get paid, unless you would do the same to a man. So cheers for today to celebrate women, but recognize that every day we are STILL pushing for equality. #ichoosetochallenge gender stereotypes. I recognize it is even harder for black women, indigenous women, women of colour, trans women, gay women, bi women, women in parts of the world that are in conflict, women suffering from diseases that are specific to our bodies. I could go on but if I say one thing today. Support & elevate women. I appreciate all the women in my life who have done the same for me.
