A reminder from the Plumber's and HVAC Tech's With so many being told to STAY HOME to is crucial we all listen AND please remember to be mindful in what we flush! Please do NOT flush wipes, paper towels, pads, tampons, diapers down the toilet! The only thing going into your sewer system, town/city sewers or your own septic is human waste and minimal amounts of toilet paper. ... I mention minimal amounts because large amounts of toilet paper, although biodegradable, can cause backups, especially in older pipes if there is any built up residue, potential cracks/breaks or roots! Yes gross , I know, but it happens! It's also very important to NOT put grease down the drains either, this provides a surface for paper products to grab onto and a blockage can quickly form! As we are still in heating season please ensure your furnace filter has been changed. A dirty filter will cause your system to breakdown and potentially cause damage to parts. Although many of our suppliers will be considered essential there most likely will be a slight delay with parts availability that we should all be prepared for! If you have family, loved ones with only 1 heat source please consider what a "back up" plan might be - especially if you or they are under quarantine. It is also important to ensure you have back up water supply, especially if on well water if your pump goes down Our business falls into the following category of "essential services" which was announced last night: 13. Businesses that provide support and maintenance services, including urgent repair... This means we will continue to offer EMERGENCY SERVICE for Plumbing and Heating, however this does not mean if you are home and under quarantine that it's a good time to get to get something checked. We realize being home provides you with time however its it's also not the time to experiment with DIY's with the help of You Tube that you aren't necessarily familiar with (and could potentially then need an expert whether it be it plumbing, heating, construction contractor, electrician etc...). We will be heavily screening our calls for the safety of our employees, their family and the community and following these restrictions seriously in our attempt to flatten the curve and prevent the spread of Covid-19.
