LATEST: The Prime Minister insists the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe for over 65 as more European countries suspend their use of the shot. Italy, France, and Germany are some of the latest hitting the pause button over fears of a link to blood clots.

Received a small order in from @orangetornadocan drill bits. I ordered up a 10 pack of sq2 - 1/4 #2 x 2 Robertson bits and also a 5 pack of sq2 - 1/4 #2 x 2 Robertson bits. With shipping the 2 sets of drill bits came to $33.18. So far we have used these bits to install a kitchen and I couldn’t be any more happier with my purchase! The @orangetornadocan bits fit inside the screws tighter than any dewalt, Milwaukee or makita drill bits I have ever owned. Our team is more ...than happy with the purchase we made to sample these bits out and will most defiantly be purchasing these again. @orangetornadocan also sells a wide variety of different construction blades ranging anywhere from a circular saw blade, diamond top tile and concrete blades to reciprocating saw blades. Over all I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend these bits to any other contractor. #jmccoyconstructionltd #construction #constructionlife #carpenter #canadian #canadiancarpenter #ontario #drillbits #robertson #orangetornado #generalcontractor #trades #framing #finishcarpentry #alwaysonthego #localbusiness #collingwood #bluemountains #drills #fasteners #bits See more

Testing out the @kregjig k4 master system portable base for drilling my cabinet pocket holes on the larger panels. The portable panel base @kregjig makes drilling pocket holes a breeze on larger panels. 28 holes drilled in only minutes. Once you have laid out where your holes are going to be it’s a matter of just drilling and moving the portable @kregjig along your panel. This is a tool well worth every spent! I’d recommend this pocket hole jig to any D.I.Y or professional. All around an awesome purchase and a huge time saver thank you @kregjig #cabinets #kitchen #kitchen #kitchenrenovation #newcabinets #custom #original #designaswebuild #dreamteam #canadiancarpenter #carpenter #contractor

A CONVERSATION ABOUT PERCEIVED VALUE: A customer asked a contractor friend of mine how much it would cost to do this project. My friend gave him a proposal: $4...500 The customer responded: That’s seems really high. My friend asked: What do you think is a reasonable price for this job? The customer answered: $2500 maximum My friend responded: Ok, then I invite you to do it yourself. The customer answered: I don't know how to. My friend responded: Alright, then how about for $2500 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $2000, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future. The customer answered: Sounds good! Let’s do it! My friend responded: Great! To get started, you are going to need some tools. You will need a chop saw, table saw, cordless drill, bit set, router, skill saw, jig saw, tool belt, hammer, etc.. The customer answered: But I don't have any of those tools and I can't justify buying all of these for one job. My friend responded: Ok. Well then for an additional $300 I can rent my tools to you to use for this project. The customer answered: Okay. That’s fair. My friend responded: Great! We will start the project on Monday. The customer answered: I work Monday through Friday. I’m only available on the weekends. My friend responded: If you want to learn from me then you will need to work when I work. This project will take 3 days so you will need to take 3 days off work. The customer answered: That means I’m going to have to sacrifice my pay for 3 days or use my vacation time! My friend responded: That’s true. Remember, when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors. The customer answered: What do you mean by that? My friend responded: Doing a job completely from start to finish includes time spent to plan the project, pick up materials, travel time, gas, set up time, clean up, and waste disposal amongst other things. That’s all in addition to the actual project itself. And speaking of materials, that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me at the lumberyard at 6:00am. The customer answered: At 6am?!! My work day doesn’t usually start until 8am! My friend responded: Well then you’re in luck! My plan is to start on the deck build by 8am. But to do so we have to start at 6am to get materials picked up, loaded and delivered to your job site. The customer answered: You know, I’m realizing that a lot more goes in to a job than what a customer sees in the finished project. Your proposal of $4500 is very reasonable. I would like you to handle the project. CONCLUSION: When you pay for a job, especially a custom job, (whether it’s a physical project or digital project) you pay not only for the material and the work to be completed. You also pay for: Knowledge Experience Custom Skills Tools Time to plan Time to prepare Professionalism Work Ethic Excellence Discipline Commitment Integrity Taxes Licenses Sacrifices Liabilities Insurance If you request a proposal for custom work to be done, please don’t disrespect a service provider by trying to get them to lower their prices. If their proposal exceeds your budget, there’s nothing wrong with getting other proposals. Just remember.. you get what you pay for. SERVICE PROVIDERS: Know your worth and be confident in it. CONSUMERS: Recognize their worth and be respectful of it. Sharing this to support all my friends, family and clients who are Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and Tradesman.

Last week our crew finished wrapping the columns and beam on this deck we build earlier in the year. In between the front wrapped beam and the front side of the first lvl there is a hidden eavestrough for all of the rain / snow run off. The framing under the floating deck has a 3 degree slope to it and the actual floating frame of the deck is level. Anything that may build up on top will eventually run down! In the spring we’re gonna remove the existing fascia on the house a...nd replace it with a matching black fascia to blend the house more in with the new deck! #canadian #canadiancarpenter #contractor #contractorsofinsta #gerneralcontractor #deckbuilder #deckdesign #deck #deckbuilders #floatingdeck #composite #truenorthdecking #thebluemountains #collingwoodontario #localbusiness #local #trade #jmccoyconstructionltd See more

After fighting the weather and having a certain temperature of 32 - 75 degrees F our crew completed the install of the @tivadek at our garage/breezeway addition job. Our customers have had us re sand and re stain their old pressure treated deck 3 times and wanted a maintenance free deck installed. After searching threw all the different composite decking companies we decided to go with a Canadian made product @tivadek. Aluminum custom railing with 10mm glass has been ordered,... face screws will be plugged with @tivadek plug system to make any face screw disappear! & the box steps will be framed up snd wrapped this coming week. Turned out pretty good for our first @tivadek install. Not the first time our company has installed composite decking but this was the first time trying out @tivadek product and I was extremely pleased with how it all came together! Huge thanks to @atlasmachinery for supplying us with the @dewalt_ca flex volt 6 1/2 plunge track saw. This made the cleanest cuts for installing the perimeter board and keeping a consistent spacing. #dewalt #dewalttools #atlasmachinery #tivadek #deckbuilder #deckpvc #deckbuilders #deck #deckdesign #construction #carpenter #canadian #ontario #thebluemountains #contractor #contractorsofinsta #generalcontractor #collingwood #georgianbay #local #trades #hirelocal #jmccoyconstructionltd #flexvolt #starttofinish # See more

Our customer wanted something plane, simple and cheap to replace. So we purchased some shelving systems from @homedepotcanada and some clean pine from @homehardware and put together some pretty basic shelving units to accompany our customers needs. This entire set up cost a couple hundred if anyone is looking for something simple and basic that can always be swapped it down the road. #carpenter #carpentry #contractor #cheap #shelves #pine #homehaedware #homedepot #canadian #bluemountains #builder #simple #looksgood #happycustomer #happycontractor #jmccoyconstructionltd
