And if you are wondering what the "spikey" things are on the fluid bed dryer, you are in good company. These are insulation studs that will later be used to hold insulation blankets in place. Jennifer comes to us with 25+ years of experience in the world of HR management in a variety of different industries including Department of National Defense, Education, Hospitality and Mental Health. Hint hint she really knows her stuff! ... In her spare time Jennifer enjoys travelling, boating, gardening, really anything outdoors in the warm summer weather! Throughout the cold Saskatchewan winters, Jennifer likes to keep warm inside dabbling in interior design, cooking (she bakes amazing bread) and entertaining all year long! Jennifer loves animals and has two small pups along with one part time dog who frequently roam around the house in their cozy bath robes! This is where it all began 1916 Saskatchewan Avenue This shop is where JNE Welding began to plant their roots. Outfitted with a rig for work on the road and a shop for housing small projects, JNE Welding was born.... Now this little shop was quite amazing. It was 2,000 square feet of open concept including shop space, the office, the lunch room and a bathroom complete with saloon style swinging doors. Fancy! Within the first year of business, 5 new employees joined the JNE team. As the company grew, the saloon swinging doors became the first of our growing pains and in 1985 it was time to expand. New project! JNE Welding is happy to announce that weve been trusted with the fabrication of a fluid bed dryer for our OEM customer Andritz Separation. This unit is destined for a potash mill in the province and should be complete in early 2021. Fluid bed dryers are a critical part of the process of turning raw potassium chloride into the many finished potash products Saskatchewan provides to the world.... JNE was chosen because of our capacity for large fabrications and extensive experience with exotic materials. In this case two grades of Haynes Hastelloy, and Duplex 2205 and AL6XN Stainless Steel. Keep an eye out for this project in our occasional shop update postings - a bright and shiny new unit, like the one in the picture below should be coming out of our shop in a few months!

Some of the pipe and vessel work underway today on our A shop on Thatcher: The unpainted spherical heads (7 thick!) are complete forgings with nozzles. This reduces welding while delivering a higher quality product. The pipe is for a manifold well assemble in a few months.

From concept to reality! Earlier this year, JNE Welding had the opportunity to work with Tesella and SIIT on an innovative model for sustainable, low maintenance and easy to build housing. We fabricated the housing structure in our shop on 56th Street in Saskatoon with some help from Atlas Industries who completed the bending of the designed shapes. After painting, the pieces were shipped out to site in June and the frame is now assembled and ready for cladding and interior fit out. This concept has the potential to make a positive difference in northern communities and we consider it a privilege to have played a small part. In June, JNE Welding delivered two 114,000 lbs condensers to a mining customer in Saskatchewan. These condensers (aka exchangers) were fabricated in our big Thatcher B shop where we have the lifting capacity to fabricate heavy equipment. Fabrication started in 2019 and was completed earlier this year prior to painting by Park Derochie Coatings (Saskatchewan) Inc. In addition to its size, this project presented some interesting technical challenges including the installatio...n of thousands of titanium tubes and ensuring all nozzles and connections would match up to existing equipment when the units were finally installed on site this summer. Over the years JNE Welding has developed the specialized experience and procedures demanded by many different types of projects, be it over size equipment, exotic metals, or specialty engineering. We're trusted by Saskatchewan's potash, uranium and base metal miners to deliver the high quality equipment they require to turn raw ore into their final products.

Progress continues on underground ore bin components in our heavy B shop on Thatcher today... but its not just big beams, these bins have all kinds of smaller parts too including lots and lots of chute work.

As always, its a busy day in our 56th street shop today with three or four projects on the go. Transmission towers, natural gas meter piping and components for a massive underground ore bin just to highlight a little bit of the great work our team does every day.

On Friday we had the honour and privilege of celebrating the incredible career of Brenda Nowakowski. As Brenda begins her "Re-Wirement" phase of life (her words, not ours), we reflect on the remarkable impact she has had on JNE Welding throughout her 20 years of service. Brenda has been a driving force behind all aspects of business development and pursuing a brand of excellence. Brenda's hard work and dedication to the company is evidenced by JNE Welding's many accomplishmen...ts over the years including achieving ISO, ASME, and CORE Safety Certifications and being named one of Canada's Best Management Companies, just to name a few. Adam Logue, CEO of JNE Welding, stated on Friday as we gathered to celebrate, "It is difficult to find a process, policy or procedure that Brenda hasn't had an influence on". Brenda has poured her blood, sweat and tears into our company and for that we will be forever grateful. Brenda has been so many things to the people of JNE Welding; a colleague, leader, mentor, work Mom, but certainly the most important, Brenda has been an incredible friend to so many.
