Did you know that 1 in 3 women (and girls) experience a form of violence in their lifetimes, most frequently at the hands of an intimate partner? On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we must unite to eradicate this heinous act. We thank the generosity of JNF supporters who have contributed to building a vitally needed women’s shelter that will be constructed next year in Rishon LeZion. On this day in 1938, the Nazis carried out a violent riot that targeted synagogues and Jewish-owned businesses. Hundreds were killed and more than 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps. There was so much destruction that the event was given the name Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass) due to the sheer amount of broken glass on the streets. #Neveragain

Today, the world mourns a great Tzadik with the passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. He was the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom and a moral voice respected by people all over the world of all faiths. Baruch Dayan Ha‘Emet.
