So we just had a police officer visit our salon, WHICH IS NOT OPEN, however our RMT, is open and having clients by appointment only which she is fully LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO. The officer was pleasant, this is not to bash police officers, he’s just doing his job. This is however, whoever felt the need to call and try to get us in trouble, this is a wish that you find another way to fulfill your time then trying to cause problems for hard working people. I think Maury Povitch is still on, maybe your level of intellect could be better put to use trying to figure out who the father really is.

I was asked why I’m vocal about there being more then one way to die from Covid when financially I’m TOTALLY FINE, (THANKYOU everyone for the PM’s to see if I’m ok).... I’m blessed to be facing shut downs with savings, a husband whose job is essential, a small mortgage, and a modest lifestyle, (besides travelling, ) so I’m totally ok! No risk for BROWN & CO going under! Why I’m so vocal? Because statistics are that every social issue and problem we have is on the rise. I ...feel terrible for covid victims, but I also feel bad for people who are victims of covid in other ways. The depression, the financial strain, the rising substance abuse, the physical and emotional abuse, the kids at home with stressed parents, etc etc. Shut downs in Toronto haven’t helped and they are at 75 days and numbers are still rising... and we are thinking of calling in the army to help the LTC homes.... lord knows I have no idea what the answer is, but I don’t think we are there yet... I feel helpless and lost right now... but at least I can do this.... AMENDMENT TO THIS POST, WATCH FOR A POST ON WEDNESDAY TO ARRANGE FOOD DRIVE FOR ST VINCENT DE PAUL IN BOWMANVILLE, they are closed till wed of this week, but as soon as we know how to arrange this, we are going to do this! Sharing from a Food Bank Volunteer: 1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac & Cheese in the box. But it needs milk & butter which is hard to get from food banks. 2. Boxed Milk is a treasure. Kids need it for cereal, which they get a lot of. 3. Everyone donates pasta sauce & spaghetti noodles. 4. Canned Foods should be Pop Tops OR donate Can Openers. 5. Oil is a luxury needed for Rice a Roni which they get a lot of. 6. Spices, Salt & Pepper are a real gift. 7. Tea bags & Coffee are caring gifts. 8. Sugar & Flour are treats. 9. Important are fresh produce donated by farmers & grocery stores. 10. Seeds are great in spring & summer because growing can be easy for some. 11. Rarely is there fresh meat. 12. Tuna & Crackers make a good lunch. 13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef. 14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but NEED sandwich bread. 15. Butter or Margarine are good. 16. Eggs are a commodity! 17. Cake mix & Frosting makes it possible to make a child's birthday cake. 18. Dishwashing Detergent is very expensive & is always appreciated. 19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury & women will cry over them. 20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.

We also wish as we sit unemployed again, that all people realize that covid can kill in more then one way, through fear, and depression. ALL LIVES and LIVELIHOODS ARE ESSENTIAL. Good morning to everyone of our loyal amazing customers that have supported us through the worst business year and stood by us and not left. We appreciate everyone who has been patient and kind while we have worked our tushies off coming back from the last pandemic, all though we have faced tremendous personal challenges with forced closures, (right or wrong it doesn’t matter, it was still very hard to go through in our industry with very little support) we have made it throu...gh, and hopefully this forced closure will not be as long as last time. We are putting on our happy face through tears and hope that the end is near of this fracking pandemic. Remember too, we have just as many fears, doubts and worries as everyone else, but small retailers are also worried financially as well. If your lucky enough to not have been devastated by this pandemic with the worst case, (death/covid sickness/other sickness and denied health care of loved ones), bankruptcy, or extreme financial stress, not to mention loneliness, please count your blessings and not judge others. Myself, (all though not all will agree), I will not judge anyone who has done or is doing something this holiday for their mental health. Yesterday we had an older woman in who has no where to go on Christmas Day, , and my son had a experience of a regular who spent thanksgiving at his work and all day the workers were kidding and joking with him about missing turkey. When the regular left at the end of the day, he left a note thanking the workers for the best thanksgiving he had ever had because he has no one in his life. . Personally, after watching my husband fight cancer last year, I will not judge or report anyone who breaks the rules this Christmas if they need extra support or family in their lives to get through this, we unfortunately know first hand how low life can get when you have no one. You don’t know everyone’s back story, or know if this is their last Christmas, so please think about how lucky and how blessed you are to not be alone, or to not NEED spend to Christmas with your loved ones... we are all not in this boat together if we are judging and reporting each other in this terrible time. Myself, (jodi) are very thankful that this closure has come after Christmas, and that we have made it this far. . So unofficially we are on lockdown again starting 11:59 on Christmas Eve. As usual our industry is no longer as important as coffee and McNuggets. With a less then 0% transmissions from small business and not one death in clarington from covid other then in LTC, we still are the businesses being shut down. My heart breaks for all of us in this fight, but it is definitely clear we are NOT in this together. We as small businesses are the government’s scape goat in trying to pa...cify the public in that they are doing something to rectify this issue. Again my staff and I are going to be taking funds from the government in lieu of wages, which would be put to much better use going to actually fight this, as in more cleaning staff, more hospital beds, more research. This week we are going to be working extra long hours trying to get all of you in, we do not know when this will end and when we will be back. Please contact your stylist, tattooist directly if you want in this week. And I ask you, hopefully my friends, my clients, my family, my coworkers, the other professionals in our industry, the other small businesses and business owners.... WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THIS WAS YOU? Would you revolt? Would you take a stand? Would you continue keeping your doors open and follow the protocol that you have done and that has worked since there has been less 0% of cases linked to your business? Please if your answer is to comply and to trust the government, to take the financial hit, I dare you to state what you personally have donated financially to this pandemic. Please do not list life as more important then money, we all know that’s true and if the government was shutting everything down I would wholeheartedly agree with you it’s the best for our people, but with it being the same as it was before, it’s no longer a fair fight, when it’s been fought with only us being the sacrificed. Please please please!!!! Shut downs are not the answer. With an admitted government study saying that less than 0% of transmissions are caused by small business this is just destroying people and their livelihoods for nothing.
