Nothing gives me greater pleasure than helping someone get more of what they want in their life!! Today, my friend and business partner Debbie Carver earned her first promotion with the company!!!! Debbie is strong, tenacious, preserves, is always growing and more than a pleasure to be in business with!!! The most rewarding aspect to all of this is that Debbie received her promotion by helping families become financially independent!! Today is a significant day. 5 years ago today, I took a chance. I took a chance on myself and became a business owner. The last 5 years has be nothing short of a roller coaster. Many ups and many downs. It's easy to look back and list all of the things I would do differently. I have done a lot of things wrong but I have also done A LOT of things right.... I LOVE the financial industry. I never thought I would say that. It's not because of the numbers (I actually don't care for that part), it's the impact that I have had on individuals and families. In the last 5 years, I have saved more than one family from the brink of bankruptcy. I have put families in a position to pass on inter generational wealth. I have put millions of dollars into people's futures. I have protected people's income when they needed it the most. I have educated and empowered hundreds of Canadians on how money works in Canada and how to take control of their money. I have helped families pay their homes off in a fraction of the time the bank wanted them to. The BEST part about all of this is because I am independent I can shop the financial industry to make sure the families I serve get the specific products and solutions that are SPECIFIC to them!! Being independent makes me a powerhouse!! This year more than any has been a year of change and transition. I am sitting here tonight with MORE excitement than I had when I began. I know I am JUST getting started!! I couldn't be more excited about my future. The future is WIDE OPEN and SO bright. I have systems in place to better serve my families and I am expanding. Over 8.5 million Canadians have applied for EI THIS YEAR ALONE with over 23 million applications!!! That number is scary and what's even scarier is that number is still climbing....
