As of now, it appears the grass fire is under control. The Calgary Fire Department will continue to put out hot spots and monitor for flare ups. Huge THANK YOU to the Calgary Fire Department for their amazing job of quickly containing this fire, even with these high winds.

Please stay away from the area around 144th Avenue NW (North of Evanston and Sage Hill) and Symons Valley Road as the Calgary Fire Department is fighting a large grass fire. At this time no Calgary communities are under threat as the fire is moving in a northward direction. Please stay out of the way of Emergency Vehicles as there are reports of the public blocking access for fire trucks.

Important vote this morning in Council. The City’s community Guidebook which at least 45 community associations are opposed too is unfortunately being pushed through council. There should have been much more community consultation on the guidebook which is why I voted for it to be delayed.

The Provincial Government is looking at increasing the Speed Limit up to 120 km/h on provincial highways. Do you think the speed limit on Stoney Trail should increase?
