"Before you can score," goes the Greek proverb, "you must first have a goal." This is true in life, and it is doubly true in selling. Set proper goals for yourself and adhere to them, and your sights will be set. You will be on target. Lacking goals, the natural tendency is to flounder. Be realistic about timing. Periodically review your goals and adjust them if necessary. Above all, never confuse setting goals with achieving them.

It's Review Time, or Is It? The dreaded performance review. The one no one likes but we go through one once or twice a year. Are these really necessary? When is the best time to give a performance review? How long should one wait between performance reviews?... The answers today would be. No. Immediately. Either one month, one week, one day, one hour or even one minute. For a further explanation for question three, look up the definition of the answer to question two, 'immediately.' One of the best organizations which follow the above is the military. Upon observing a fault on something you did improperly which could cause the loss of human life, would they wait until your bi-annual performance review before bringing it to your attention? Well? However, how many reviews have you gone through where they bring something up from four or five months in the past and hold it against you? Would it not have been nice to know right away so that you could make the change and the company would become more productive and efficient immediately instead of waiting for those four or five months? In today's world, the change is so rapid that if you wait five months to bring it up, it is already redundant. Therefore, are annual performance necessary today?

Something To Think About. Sometimes salespeople lose, but other times they win big! That’s what makes being a sales professional so exciting. The risk involved in losing can be great, but it can also be a motivator to get it done. As long as you’re doing something, you will eventually achieve some kind of success. That’s why it’s so important to never, ever give up on yourself or your dreams. Remember that winning could be just around the corner for you.

Where Are You Today? The bigger question would be: "Should you be there?" I have worked with people in organizations that are just miserable where they are, but continue to 'stick it out.' ... Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, life is way too short to be stuck in a position that is slowly and surely killing you. In order to find where you should be, follow these simple steps. 1. Make a list of five things that you are really good at and enjoy doing. 2. Look for transferable skills that you can use in your current position and use them. 3. Look at ways to better improve those transferable skills 4. Implement what you love to do in your current situation. 5. What you don't have the authority? Great, change to somewhere that will encourage you and welcome the new way of thinking. It is not 1970 and the idea of working for one employer for 40 years and getting the gold watch, a dinner, and plaque have long gone. Today, people will change employers on average eleven times during their working life and more money is rarely the reason they change. Therefore, back to the original question, where you are right now, is that where you want to be? #newreality #change #improve #grow #mindsets #personaldevelopement #selfgrowth

This Time Is An Opportunity When was the last time you got in touch with those on your deferred file? How about those that had no need the first time you called, should you not call to see if anything has changed? Have you asked your current clients how you can help them through this? We can all sit in our home and cry a river on how things will never be the same, or we can get everything ready and hit the ground running when we get back to whatever normalcy we are going int...o while the competition thinks about what to do next now that they are back. I called someone this morning that had no need for my services when I called them last year. Today, they want to get into a Zoom call on Thursday to see how we can work together to make their team ready for the new reality. #newreality #youcan #wecan #worktogether
