It always amazes me how fast trees make the visible switch from buds to leaves. As soon as mother nature opens the window, they waste no time in unravelling their primary source for gathering energy. No doubt there was a lot going on below the surface. Now this got me thinking about small business. While many of us wait to get back at it, we need to make sure we’re ready to launch when that window opens. I love magazine covers. The good ones are intriguing/thought provoking and bold. One of my favourite covers from @natgeo is the 06.2018 plastic bag cover. I thought I’d take a shot at recreating the cover for 2020, while messing around with some 3D rendering.

So we’re all going a little nuts, being cooped up, finishing off old projects, trying to work on ways to stay sharp while practicing social distancing. Here’s a 3-shot. One of the ways that I’ve been using to help. The idea is to tell a story and reflect on the visuals through three shots. Here goes: Going for a stroll in the woods after a rain storm revealed this old pine, which seemed to have been felled by what we figured could only have been a lightning strike. The once ...towering giant which stood in the centre of this clearing had been snapped at the base of its trunk, leaving sharp, unwelcoming edges jetting out from its inside.
