The JMYFL has been receiving some inquiries and questions since the province went to PHASE 3 and we have cancelled our season. As you can see from the guidelines below, we are still not able to operate a safe intentional contact sport at this time. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2021!!! Thank you JMYFL Executive

It is with a heavy and sad heart that we announce that the Sudbury Football Family has lost a fine son today. Todd Lefebvre lost his long battle with cancer and has passed. Affectionately know as Shrek by his friends because of his imposing size and endearing lumbering nature, Todd served his community tirelessly as a member of the Greater Sudbury Police Service. In addition, Todd was a constant presence in various community services and programs, including the Joe MacDonald ...Youth Football League. Thank you for everything Todd. Rest well friend and be at peace. Our deepest condolences to his many friends and family.

Hello JMYFL players, parents, fans and supporters. During these uncertain times we are in a holding pattern waiting like other sports in the Sudbury Community. We have no updates from the City as to when fields will be open. When we are made aware we will share this information. Thank you for your continued support. JMYFL Executive

Football is about Family! In this picture below we have four generations of football players. Each of these men have taken the time to teach the following generation how to play this great game! And now it's time to teach their own kids, and cheer on their grand kids. It's the circle of football life.

We would like to send out our warmest and sincerest congratulations to Liam Cousineau, on being signed to the University of Toronto Blues. Liam got his start with our league nearly 8 years ago, graduating on to play for SSC Cardinals, as well as the Sudbury Gladiators. A natural athlete, Liam excelled at every position he played. Over his career Liam has been an important component of every team he has been on, and has won various awards for his efforts. Best of luck on the next leg of your journey! We're all very proud of your accomplishments.

Hello Everyone, There have been a lot of questions surrounding the next round of fittings. We are presently working this out with our dedicated volunteers to see when their availability will be. Once a date has been established we will be communicating this via email (please ensure that you check the email account you registered with, we have no way of knowing if you changed this). We will also be posting this information on this page as well. However, this brings up a great ...opportunity to remind everyone of the great job our volunteers do, as well as their importance. This entire league is run 100% via volunteers. In recent years, our numbers have ebbed and flowed with much turn-over in every facet of the organization. We are always in need, and welcoming of new blood willing to assist us in the various aspects of the league. This can be for fittings, for game days, for coaching, assisting coaches, and even within the executive. As such, a big thanks is given to all of the coaches and volunteers that make it happen every season. This year, we had a dedicated group of volunteers who helped to clean our clubhouse. It took us over 6 hours, but everything is cleaned, organized, and we couldn't be prouder. It's only through such acts that we can efficiently deliver a quality of service, to the highest standard that we believe the kids and our participants deserve. A little bit of your time goes a long way in this regard. We understand that there are personal commitments which preclude involvement in our, and many other organization. But please do not think that sitting out is better then helping even just a little bit here and there. The bystander effect suggests that the more people are around, the less likely you are to get help because everyone thinks "someone else will do it". We all have to do our part. The success of this league depends upon the gracious donations of time from people just like you. I am humbled by the efforts made by our present volunteer group. And I remain excited to see what potential new volunteers will bring to the table. We've got a little over three weeks to training camp! All the best everyone, Ed P. P.S. We are still in desperate need of coaching assistance at the Bantams level. If you are interested, please contact us at www.joemac.ca.

The Joe MacDonald Youth Football League provides both boys and girls in the city of Greater Sudbury the opportunity to participate in the sport of football. These little cuties have been with us for three seasons now and are going strong. We look forward to having them out again this coming season, and seeing them help their teams by being great players, teammates, and leaders both on and off the field.

Joe MacDonald Youth Football League 07.07.2019

Registration is now open. http://www.joemac.ca/registration/ In celebrating our 25th season this fall, we look forward to improving the development of young girls and boys who participate in our great league. For 25 years we have preached respect and sportsmanship as well as providing an affordable sport to all youth in our community. In keeping with our traditions of developmental football, we will now begin modelling our tyke and bantam divisions after our exceedingly succe...ssful mini macs. All players in both tykes and bantams divisions will practice together as one large squad, while all of our the coaches work together to deliver their respective positional skills to all of the children, maximizing the effectiveness of the athletes' development. Once the preseason evaluations are completed at the end of the first three weeks, the players will be placed on one of two teams. This process is intended to create parity between the two teams, thus ensuring both teams will be competitive during their inter-squad competitions. This will allow us to more effectively develop the quality of both athletes and coaches within our community, and provide equal opportunity for fun and safety for all participants. We intend on playing with standard football rules with 12 players on the field on each phase of the game, and utilizing the entire field providing players with a truly authentic Canadian football experience. This change in philosophy will serve to better the quality of our young athletes and coaches in the Sudbury football community, thus providing all participants with the experience needed to take their skills to the next levels within the community, be it high school, Gladiators, and potentially to levels beyond such as the CIS and Spartans. We see this move to be one that is in keeping with the very core of our mandate to provide the city of Greater Sudbury with quality mentors and players both on and off the football field. We look forward to seeing each and every one of our loyal members, and welcome with open arms the young families that will be partaking in our great league this coming fall. Thank you all for your continued support in this time of transition. Sincerely, Your Joe Mac Executive
