Hi all, I have decided to close the pizzeria until the week of July 27. Guillemette and I are going to step back for a little break and enjoy the nice weather and recharge our batteries. Exact date of reopening to be determined, likely either the 27 or 28th. More info to follow.

New service window We have installed a new service window due to coronavirus Covid 19 safety precautions. Customers are no longer permitted in the pizzeria and are asked to wait outside. Just ask for a free cup of hot tea while you wait, it’s on us.

updates March 23 Hi all, here’s what’s going on at Joe’s Pizza: -We are take-out only effective starting tonight. I have cleared the dining room to serve as a temporary waiting area, and to create some space for social distancing. Photo attached.... -My three-night delivery experiment last week was not a huge success, I had 3 orders the first night, and none on nights 2 and 3 so I will be discontinuing this trial due to lack of interest. - There is a new menu starting today. Prices on pizzas have not increased. I have kept the top ten selling pizzas but I’ve had to trim the rest due to lower volume levels. I’m also offering a couple new pasta selections, including gluten-free. The focus here is on giving my customers a decent meal at a fair price. The small size should be good for one person, the large for a family of three or four, with a pizza or two on the side. New menu posted in a different post. -Offsales menu increased selection with broad-appeal products -Hours are unchanged, open Mon-Fri at 4:00pm and closed at 9:00pm. If it’s really slow I may close early some nights. - I‘m spraying the debit machine with disinfectant in between each customer as an additional safety precaution. - I will be installing a service window for take out orders. Once it is installed, customers will be able to pick up food orders without even coming into the shop. You will asked to wait outside on the deck if your order isn’t ready when you arrive. Update for Joe’s Wood Fired Pizza: à few customers have been asking about our dining room opening up. With the small space we have, and nice weather for people to eat outside, under current distancing and capacity limits it is something that I am choosing not to do, for now, for my own business and personal reasons. This could change but for now that’s where I’m at. I have also scaled back to just four nights per week due to very low traffic and low numbers. So here’s what I...’m thinking: is for any of Dawson area food vendors that had mobile operations/ catering or did pop up food sales anywhere like dcmf or talent night at the school or whatever, I have extra capacity in a commercially licensed kitchen. Now on offer to rent every Monday for small community type operators who want to do a special night and get some community support out to keep the dream alive. Minimal fee to be be discussed to recoup some extra cleaning costs or based on your needs, I have paper products/ recycled fibre food trays, etc, to be negotiated for individual needs. But let’s get this going as a community support initiative for smaller operators. Is this a good idea? If there is support I will do a business plan to submit for environment health approval.
