Feeling totally humbled the last few weeks. Never take your life your health or your fitness for granted. Things can change in an instant. Since having surgery 7 months ago I never imagined it would be this hard to recover properly. Having gained 30 very unwelcome lbs since, it's even harder now to get back I to the same shape I was in just a few short months ago. Doing a pushup and pullup routine now with an extra 30lbs is way harder than ever. The bright side is the extra... weight will help to build more muscle faster. Nothing special about it except the sweat! After months of trying to rehad the knee, it's time to get back into using the legs again. It's CRAZY how fast your strength changes in such a short time. No weights just body weight and my legs are killing me!!! The knee is moving but still quite painful if it's moved wrong. There is still a lot of work to do. The real fight behind now. The fitness level I had before the surgery seems a distant memory and now with what will be lifetime pain to deal with it will be a bigger struggle to get back there.

Just me, no filter, no hiding behind a facade of smiles pretending everything is perfect. I wish life we're like that, and that everything goes according to plan. I think we all wish it were that easy. But the truth is it isn't. Life is hard, and the battles we fight are sometimes what test us at every step and at every turn. The last 6 months have been hard. It's taken a toll on me and today is a hard day for me. You could say this is the lowest I have felt in a long time.... It may sound shallow but when I look in the mirror I hate everything about the way I look. I think what did it was the mistake of stepping on the scale last night to confirm why I have been feeling so badly. The extra 30lbs on the scale just confirmed it. 30lbs, that's 10lbs more than I fought to shed back at the beginning of my Coaching career. More than I have ever had to fight to lose before. Creeping up to 180 again is not what I had planned this year at all. Before handing in for surgery back in January I was right at the 149 mark and just above my goal of maintaining 10% body comp. Those days seem so far away now. And it's going to be so much harder to get back there now. I know one day I will get back there, I just wish I knew when that day will come. Go get it! It may not look it. But there has been so much progress made in the last couple weeks. Still fighting bouts of pain, especially after doing some movement. But overall it's a huge stride. Last one for a while. Not sure when I will be able to get a sweat on again. Hopefully after tomorrow there will be some signs of a light at the end if the tunnel. One thing is for sure. What day to be alive! That felt great! Really, really great! The knee not so much but the least of me does. Just a few more days then back in to what the knee worked on again. Hoping it doesn't send me back to the beginning again. Cause that would suck!! You can tell it still doesn't want to straighten, and there is still enough inflammation to keep it from fully bending. Still got a ways to go... But the good news is it's coming along. The knee is starting to behave for the most part. Still a long way to go. It deos not want to move right and still hurts from time to time letting me know it is not % yet. It feels good to be able to sweat again. Been working on pushing through the discomfort and the sometimes painful restrictions from this knee that just won't end. The name of the game is modifications, modifications, modifications!! Some movements I know I may never be able to do unmodified anymore. But giving up is not an option. Not now not ever. Keep finding a way.

have to say I am quite pleased with the CTI brace so far. It's not something you notice after a while till you take it off. Then it feels totally different. Thanks Dr. Jeremy Reed for the suggestion and the perscription. It's making a big difference so far. Hopefully push off the big one for a while. If you have healthy knees, keep them healthy! If you're like me and it's just going to happen. Be sure to ask for a referral. This is the guy you want in your corner.

Is that actual sweat dripping? That was the first time in Avery long time I was able to actually move half the way I wanted to. This inability to work my body hard, hard the way it wants to be, has been rough. Even with the IF eating protocols and keeping clean the majority of the time. My body stillanaged to put on 20lbs. Not all of it body fat but more than I was wanting or expecting. It's hard not knowing when you will be back to your old self or if the old self will eve...n come back. That was kind of AWESOME!! First real anything wearing my new @ossurcorp Custom #cti knee brace. It's been a few days wearing it and it seems to be doing it's job. Far less pain and discomfort. Still a lot near the edge of the ROM but that what we are hoping to fix as well. Cranked out a great push pull routine with a whole lot less discomfort than before the brace. So here I am 4 months post op. And I have ice on my knee. Again. Going back in the OR in the next couple weeks for a "manual manipulation" as they say. Or as I joked with the surgeon yesterday 10 mins of you beating the hell.out of my knee to get it to move where it is supposed to move. It's still lacking about 20 of extension. Quick in and out he says. But will be wearing a brace to limit the movement of the knee to keep it straight. There is a sweet custom brace being m...ade right now I am looking forward to getting and trying. I hope it works and takes this pain away. It has subsided, but it still limits me from doing much of anything, including standing for too long. Hopefully this starts to go a better direction soon. Go get it!
