https://thepostmillennial.com/trudeau-minister-bill-blairs- So to put this in perspective, it is totally fine that I, an RPAL holder, get a criminal background check every single day. But it is somehow not ok that a potentiality violent repeat offender go through a background check before they are hired by a company/business. You might be thinking that sometimes people make mistakes and deserves a second chance, and I dont disagree. This is why pardons exist. It's also note...worthy that in 2018 the Trudeau government changed the way that some pardons are handled which could make it easier for people with serious past criminal offenses to have a clean criminal record check. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4558903 https://thepostmillennial.com/trudeau-minister-bill-blairs-

Some perspective from a lawyer on the self defense case. https://youtu.be/Tgx3zZ61vUg

This is an interesting case. Note the victim of the home invasion was originally charged with murder, this charge was later downgraded to manslaughter. The only reason the charge was dropped is because of lack of evidence for a conviction, not because the Crown agreed it was self defense. Its unfortunate that this man had to be arrested, charged and held in custody (victimized again) before finally being released and cleared. The right to self defense is such a grey area in Canada. Stay safe out there, and if you ever find yourself in a situation like this, get yourself a good lawyer, and remember anything you say can be used against you in court. https://www.cbc.ca//manslaughter-charges-collingwood-shoot

I'm also not impressed, just not sure if it's for the same reasons.
