The healing power of music...........
Hello music lovers! Back in April, we had really hoped we'd be able to put on a great Homegrown Live this fall. We knew it wasn't likely, but we hoped for i...t anyway. We're going to hold out for a triumphant return to live music in our favourite downtown venues in 2021! There is still lots of great music to be seen and heard at Musiikki, Blu Martini, The Mansion, Market Square, the Wharf and Feather and a few other spots around town, plus live streams from many of our favourite local musicians. Check 'em out and support 'em as best you can! In the meantime, The Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library is still running and still has lots of bills to pay. If you can afford to throw a few bucks their way, please do! As ever, thank you to our many amazing volunteers, including venue coordinators, musicians, and organizers for your hard work and passion. If we could do it this year, we couldn't do it without you! See you soon. Love, Homegrown.
Do you have a full size (88-Key) electronic keyboard you aren't currently using? If so, consider donating it to Joe's M.I.L.L. - tax receipts available.
Great news! Joe's M.I.L.L. is now open for walk-ins. Appointments are no longer required. See you soon!
Celeste has been decorating and it's looking like Halloween at Joe's M.I.L.L.! We are open for walk-ins so come on in and borrow an instrument. We even have a skeleton guitar!
A blast from the past with Pat Murray, Bobbi Hearns, Joe Chitalen, Bill Bosworth and Brian Howelll
Joe Chithalen - November 17, 1967 - May 1, 1999. "Love is a renewable resource, we need to keep making love. We need to infuse love to our arms like a global intravenous and turn ourselves around spinning and laughing until we die. And why should death be feared? Death is not an end, but a beginning" Thanks for sharing in the inspired dream of the Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library which continues to make positive changes in this community and others.
