One of the more acrobatic middle infielders in Ontario right now is Eric Rutherford (Titans 2022). With soft hands and good range, Rutherford seems to use every possible arm angle on his throws. Definitely a high flyer in my book! #HashAward

It’s tough to keep a baseball academy running in any year, no less last season. TJ Burton kept the TBJ Academy going without player camps or the T12 tournament. Fearless leadership with a creative, dependable staff allowed the Academy to stay in tune with amateur baseball in Canada. Well done!

Sam White: a hidden gem that could be a valuable commodity! He’s definitely got the skills!

2 hitters... same team... same position... same tape-measure bombs... Kaden Gray and Julio Vasquez... remember those names! (btw, Vasquez hits right, but the pic looks much better this way)

This lockdown has given me time to ponder life’s mysteries...like why this kid hasn’t committed yet? I saw enough of Brysen Vernon (2021-uncommitted) last summer to know that some lucky school will benefit before long. Just don’t wait too long!

Is there anything more beautiful than seeing a shortstop go deep in the hole, set his feet, and throw a seed to first base? Let me introduce you to Nate Ochoa (2022). Strong arm, potent bat, and still growing. A pleasure to watch! #HashAward

David Alvarez (2023-uncommitted) is a Person-of-Interest when it come to talent. Put very simply; I think he has loads of it. We haven’t seen it all yet. I predict he shows well this season!

Being good isn’t enough for Turner Spoljaric (2022). He made big strides last year with increased velo, better secondary pitches and hitting spots. It was good to see him rewarded for his efforts! Btw, he’s still not satisfied...

Cole Leclair (2023) is another one of those talented Miss. North HPP players who caught my attention during last summer’s PBR Scout Day. He truly seized the day. Expect big things from him in 2021! #HashAward

Rule #1: Don’t compare siblings. Rule #2: If each of the siblings can hold their own, there is no need for Rule #1. Myles Naylor (2023) is still young and really should be left alone to be allowed to play... but he’s just too good a player to ignore! So if you happen to be around where he’s playing, watch and you’ll see what I mean.

If you’re building up the middle, this 5-tool player allows you to check off all the boxes. Core Jackson (2021) impresses both offensively and defensively. With a projectable athletic body and a good baseball mindset, Jackson is on many scouts’ shortlist. He’s definitely worth watching!

Mitch Bratt, the Chairman, has all the bells and whistles you’d look for in an LHP. His velo improves each year, which is enticing, but I like how his secondary stuff works. Best Canadian pitcher with the ability to miss bats. #HashAwards
