Miigwech Nibi (Anishinaabe for "Thank you water") p. 4/4 - JMA is working with community and neighbours to explore improvements for the crossing of Queen Street South in Kitchener, Ontario. The intervention proposes a fountain arching over the roadway, as a focal point for the surrounding space that tells a story about the history of our community.

Miigwech Nibi (Anishinaabe for "Thank you water") p. 3/4 - The Schneider Creek runs underneath the present roadway, but people may not even be aware of this, and its historical significance for aboriginal and non-aboriginal patterns of movement and settlement. The fountain brings the idea of water back into the public realm, as a focus for the crossing and space.

Miigwech Nibi (Anishinaabe for "Thank you water") p. 2/4 - One or several streams would arch over Queen Street, forming a symbolic "leap", as a connection for pedestrians and road users to experience. The laminar flow fountain can be programmed for continuous or intermittent operation and would be accompanied with programmable LED lighting.
