April 12, 1980, the day Terry Fox started his journey 41 years ago. Over 143 days Terry Fox covered 5,373 km running across Canada. His journey ending in Thunder Bay. Only stopping because the Cancer had spread to his lungs. June 28, 1981, Terry Fox passed away, but his legend did not. Terry Fox as far as I'm concerned, is the most Hardcore, humble and determined ultra-endurance athlete of all time. What this man did on one leg most will never come close to with both. Anothe...r side notes this was before the time of advanced prosthetics. He modified his artificial leg on his own to make this journey happen. As an offering to a personal hero of mine and many others and to mark the 40th anniversary of his passing. Starting April 12 I will commit to biking, walking and running a total of at least 5,373 km. This will all be tracked with strava or my Garmin watch. This will also include a 1500 - 1700 km bike tour of Alberta over ten days. Checkpoints in Drumheller, Waterton, Banff National Park, Jasper and returning to Edmonton. I'm by no means a rich man. I will be doing all this well, working and living my day-to-day life. I encourage all of you who can pick one day this year to walk, run or bike in Honor of Terry Fox. My personal fundraising goal is to raise $5,373one dollar for every KM. Over the next few weeks, I will share more information, and a donation page will be created. Together we can ensure Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope will not end until a cure is found. I’m feeling increased strength and firmness in my body, and the techniques on mindfulness and connection are helpful, both during workouts and also through the day as I improve my posture. Meet Kent who started training with me just over a month ago. We are working together twice a week and built him a full body routine for one day on his own. We also added a bit of yoga and a increase in protein in his diet. Small changes and consistency is his secret to already seeing noticeable changes. New Goals New Focus New Spaces. Life can change without any notice. A month ago I would of been sitting in my Condo or training at my studio. But give it a few days and my whole life would be turned upside down. I won’t go into details as it doesn’t matter. The end result though is now I’m sitting in my home office on 124 st looking at my home studio. ... The effects of the last month on top of several other things over the last year brought me to a point. That point being extremely overwhelmed. I realized I had to act quick or this mess could sink me pretty deep. With the help and support of many important people. My new roommate and I were able to make this situation much better for us in the long run. Thank you to everyone. I’m sure you know whom you are as I’ve likely driven you crazy a tiny bit. What can be learnt from all this? Well one life is easier when kept simple. So really changing it up this way has helped with that. On a more personal level. It actually really help lay out many points of stress in my life. Things I could easily change or remove. Hence a bit of a stepping back and clearing of some extras for the current time. I have two really big goals I’ve started working towards. These will be discussed later. Until then God Bless Hare Krishna.
