OFSI (the Federal bank regulator) just announced that they are making it harder to refinance your home. AS of Jan 1, 2018 There will be a qualification rate at a much higher rate than today. This will have the effect of raising interest rates by 2%. If you are thinking of refinancing. it would be a good idea to do it now. IF you Need to refinance do not delay do it today. AS with other changes to the mortgage rule this is the deadline day the effective day could be earlier and December will be a busy month.
