Hello everyone, A really great friend of mine and fellow nurse has recently gotten ill and is fighting for her life in a hospital in Hamilton, intubated and par...alyzed. This friend of mine is one of the kindest people, super loyal, beautiful and strong. She always had a way of making people feel loved and valued. The cause of this sickness is still up in the air, but we are trusting in the capable hands of the doctors and nurses caring for her! Laura and I have decided to do a T-shirt fundraiser for her- for all medical bills, physiotherapy, loss of wages, etc! There will be two T-shirt designs, both will be printed on higher quality shirts (Bella Canvas), cotton, crew-neck and unisex sizing. Each shirt is $25- with $10 from each shirt going right in the bank for her! (The more shirts we order, the greater discount we will get- the more money we give to her!!) Thank you so much MacSOC - McMaster Student Outreach Collaborative for the lovely homemade scrub caps and masks you have donated for my colleagues at Brantford ...ICU! I am so proud to have been a part of such an amazing organization throughout my undergrad. MacSOC is a student- and faculty-run group that focuses on serving those in Hamilton who are marginally housed, homeless, or at risk of homelessness. If you are interested in helping, they have started an initiative that donates one mask to someone in need for every mask bought, so that community members can keep each other safe!
