Alberta NDP Environment critic Marlin Schmidt will call on the UCP to pause all coal activity on Category 2 lands on the eastern slopes, and cancel the May 2020 coal leases granted after Energy Minister Sonya Savage rescinded the 1976 Lougheed Coal Policy. Schmidt will also respond to the government's funding announcement for oil and gas site cleanup.
