I am the one that gets up at 3am to attend to a leak, the one that travels on a Saturday to fix a broken lock, the one that picks up the pieces when a disrespectful tenant damages the house, the one that provides a free counseling service when they split with their partner and a free mediation service when they fall out with their house mates. I am the one that provides signposting for debt counselling or universal credit, legal signposting and financial ...help. I am the Gardener, painter, plumber and cleaner, the one that they vent to and rant over the phone when things go wrong. I am the one that gets sworn at and threatened when they disagree with the house rules, I am the law enforcement, family liaison and neighbourhood watch. I am the rent collector, arrears negotiator and tracing officer. I am the refuse collector, locksmith and glazier in the early hours of the morning on New Year’s Day. I am the one that was super proud to see my first refurb go live then witness it being trashed later by bad tenants I am the parking attendant, inspector and debt collector, the window cleaner roofer and WIFI engineer. I am the interior designer, plasterer, I am the mum, dad and big brother. I am the washing machine engineer and light bulb changer. I am the one expected to provide free housing when a tenant chooses not to pay. I am the pet monitor and animal welfare officer. I am the police liaison officer and house security monitor. I am the utilities usage monitor and mortgage provider. I am the bug inspector and the environmental health monitor. I am the one that provides this amazing service to amazing young people that can't afford to get it elsewhere. Despite all of this I am the constant target of hate campaigns from the left and get accused of consuming all of the housing stock and forcing up prices I am the constant target of more taxes and regulation I am constantly targeted by the media I am constantly monitored by the council I am not the multi-millionaire "fat cat" the government makes me out to be I am the one that provides a home for my amazing tenants. I am the one that goes above and beyond anyone else I know to look after my customers. . "I am a Landlord". . Share this onto your page if this is you!
