This is a late post for my motivation Monday series. This is something I have come to firmly believe when it comes to business: 90% comes from hard work and 10% comes from luck. Luck. Such a mysterious and elusive thing. We have absolutely no control over it and yet it can either greatly benefit our business positively or hinder it.... I’ll give you an example. Around this time last year, I had door-knocked 100 houses all in one day. It was -15 degrees Celsius and my fingers and toes were about to fall off. On the 98th door, I knocked on a particular house and I met a seller who not only invited me in to show her house, but who also agreed to a home evaluation appointment. Her home because my 4th listing, the first home I ever sold over-asking and clients I regard as family. I was very lucky. I knocked on the right door at the right time. Once again I forgot to post my motivation Monday quote but because yesterday was a holiday I forgive myself. Ive been tad stressing over the past couple weeks over some business plans that hadnt gone according to plan. As the kind of person that is very meticulous and thorough, I anticipate successes and plan them accordingly. Oftentimes, these plans experiences setbacks and dont go according to my grand design which then cause me to mildly stress about them. To cope with ...this bad habit of mine, Ive gently been reminding myself to let the cookie crumble as it is OR cross that bridge when it comes and not before. Sometimes as desperately as we try to plan things out, some things are just out of our control and the faster we accept that it is, the easier itll be to process. Although these setbacks that I have experienced the past week still make my stomach knot... the best thing I can do for myself is to cross that bridge when it comes. But I also had pretty sh*tty things happen too. At the lowest point, I was so exasperated I didnt know how to navigate through it - until I saw this quote.... It changed my perspective. For #motivationmonday Id like to share something that we can all relate to. Recently Ive been feeling down by the lack of clients & business. I was stressing over my listing that was receiving many showings but no offers. I was stressing over an offer I submitted that had undergone multiple offers and worried I wouldnt be able to get my buyers the house they wanted. I was stressed about my finances. My social life. My romantic life. Lots of things. So yesterday I prayed to... God. I asked Him for help. I told him about my fears and stresses, and I asked him to help me with my listing and my buyers offers. Want to know what happened next? Today, not only was my buyers offers accepted, I also received an offer for that very same listing I was stressed about.
