Sometimes I get asked which camera I recommend and I'm left scratching my head. I don't often stay up to date Today's prosumer stuff and the gear I use is so overkill.. Smart phone cameras are very capable and should do quite well in most cases. I absolutely love the one on my iPhone 5s. If you want to kick it up to the next level however there are tons of options. I do love my Nikon pro gear but it gets cumbersome not to mention silly expensive. Here's an alternative that looks like it bridges the gap between smart phone and pro rig nicely. http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/05/sony-rx10-review/ The RX10 seems to be a one stop shop with it's fixed super zoom lens. 24-200mm and constant 2.8 aperture. Very useful!

My prediction for the cost of the new Mac pro was only 1 dollar off. I'm sure it's going to be a beast of a machine but with a 3k entry fee I'm sure some will be happy the heat comes out of the top in order to save on heating bills :P
