Happy Easter everyone. Despite the weather today, spring is on the way
In an effort to continue to provide habitat for wild life on our farm, it is always nice to see the return of many birds including barn and tree swallows every year to the farm. But it has been many years since we have seen any bats. We are hoping that this bat box kindly provided by Annapolis Valley Bat Box Project will encourage the return and growth of the population. We shall see. Just have to find the right spot to mount it.

Sunday was a beautiful day for frost seeding of some of the pastures. Always wanted to try it. We shall see how it turns out. Hard to get away with out being noticed (doing anything pasture related) as you can see I had an audience.
Signs of spring, a very lush green sticking through the snow. Last fall's seeding of rye, timothy and clovers.
February 23 is Agricultural Day ! Looking forward to the upcoming season and continuing to be part of Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia. #IHeartChickenFarmers
Last weeks job working in the wind-blown spruce grove. Still lots to do and lots of fire wood.
Despite the snow coming the market is open, hope to see you there
ROAMING DOG. ANYONE MISSING A DOG IN THE BLACK RIVER/LUMSDEN POND AREA? I could not get him to come any closer to me. He was travelling down Black River Road toward Gaspereau Valley. He did have a collar. I don't know if he had tags.
A true winter day. Despite the conditions cattle still have to be fed. What a pile of snow! Can't really complain as we have not had much winter to date.
Concise and to the point. I agree 100 %.
We knew it all along.
