Losing my brother, in all honesty has hit me much harder than I ever expected. Which I know is a very weird thing to say... Jonathan was the most unique soul, extremely special, intelligent, loyal, quirky, weird and crazy but a very rare and precious gem. Firstly, he's known to most people by "Unicorn." A rare and mythical creature of majestic beauty, rarity and specialness. ... He's one of the most intelligent guys I know. He knew something about everything and always gave you a piece of his mind. He was never afraid to call you out, correct you or, give you the straight up truth with absolutely no filter. Many ppl who met us would say "oh you two are brothers, that's crazy!" "Are you guys close?" We didn't really know what to say to that and really, we just played it off awkwardly, smiled at each other and laughed. We didn't build our relationship like most siblings or people did by being affectionate to one another. Only after thoroughly reminiscing and going over our life as brothers did I realize how fucking close and deeply connected we actually truly were... We didn't have to say a single word to each other to know how each of us felt. But, if he lifted his eyebrow or stood a certain way, or literally raised a finger...I knew exactly what he was feeling or what he was going to say. It was so deep and pure that I overlooked it all this time... He always looked out for me my entire life. He was the absolute definition of a big brother in every sense of the word. Seeing him smiling ear to ear with all his friends and being in his true element, just made me so incredibly happy. I didn't feel like I needed to say anything to him at all before he went...But I started to text him and each word came so easily after the next with no pause. I was able to truly tell him I fuckking proud and honoured I was to be his brother. I can't put the void I feel into words even in the slightest bit...But I take solace in knowing you're at peace and you found Mom up there on your own journey. All I can say is I miss you like you wouldn't believe big brother...Until we meet again, rest in paradise and enjoy your journey.
