I am expanding my Paralegal practice to the field of Minor Personal Injuries which are those injuries that do not seem to amount to much but cause some discomfort as a result of an accident, slip and fall, dog bite, negligence of others and many more. I intend to deal with my client's cases within the realm of the Small Claims Court that starting on January 2, 2020 will be handling cases that are up to a maximum of $35,000.00 exclusive of costs and interest. There are two wa...y you can legally tackle an injury case: you can take it to Superior Court where there is a complex mechanism to deal with these types of cases and take a very long time (sometimes 4-5 years to be decided or settled) as well as the fact that lawyers are expensive because it is a time consuming process. The other way, which I prefer is the Small Claims Court way of dealing with these cases because the process is much simpler, faster, effective and it provides a mechanism for settlement hearings in which things can be dealt with expeditiously and settled in a manner satisfactory to all parties. I really don't promise to my clients the moon and the stars but I do my best to resolve the cases expeditiously and effectively by getting reasonable settlements.
