Less than a week to bid on this original painting of Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund

We are so proud to announce that our member, Joriginals1 (Jori Warren) has won first place in the national juried show, "Retro 2020", taking place Nov.1-31 with... the Federation of Canadian Artists. This is a remarkable achievement so please join us in congratulating her with your comments and shares! Her winning piece, titled "Canada$150 is 32x60’’, Acrylic on canvas and is currently available for $7250. The exceptional amount of detail, time, care and thought that went into this striking piece sets Joris work apart from so many others in a world striving to create work as quickly as possible. She also had a second piece accepted into the show which we will highlight later in the week! Jori says about her piece: To celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday, I wanted to honor our money and as our paper notes go out of production, I did not want to lose these iconic Images, the beauty, and my history with them growing up. As with all my currency paintings, I created Notes of Interest card, detailing some interesting money facts, like this 1969 $1 banknote showcases Canada’s Coat of Arms that states our motto; A Mari Usque Ad Mare which in latin means From Sea to Sea. As an added challenge for myself, if you count the currency, it adds up to Canada$150.
