Last day to vote! Best of luck to all the candidates. Whether you win or lose, everyone should be proud for their hard work these last few weeks.
Friendly reminder that there's still time left to vote!
There's still time to vote! If you believe in working together and want a fresh voice at the council table, vote Josh Healey for District 10.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I know Jess, Frost and I made the best of the weather and enjoyed time with friends and family. Having said that, voting is ongoing until the 17th! Roughly 20 per cent of eligible of MODL residents have voted and there's still time. Still undecided? Please reach out via phone (902-298-2216) or email ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
Wow! With voting still open online or by telephone 24/7 until Saturday night at 7pm, more than 20% of eligible voters in the Municipality of the District of Lun...enburg have voted. Great work! If you have questions about voting or need assistance, please contact our Elections Office: https://www.modl.ca/elections.html
I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone in Lunenburg County a fantastic Thanksgiving. We are truly lucky to live in such a special part of the world and I think it's worth celebrating. So, in celebration of our little corner, I asked my friend Jack Smith to record a video showcasing in and around the Town of Lunenburg. Eat plenty, be merry and remember: there's still time to vote!... I hope you choose Josh Healey for District 10 because I sure love this place. Thanks.
Now is the time to exercise your right to choose a representative for District 10 over the next four years. Look, really look, at what Chasidy, Ann and myself have layed out as our way forward. This isn't about choosing someone because they're nice; it's about knowing the issues and having a real way forward. Lunenburg County needs councillors with a plan to tackle important issues like rural internet, climate action, straight pipes and protecting our coastline and waterways.... I've got a plan. And I want to be your voice. Choose Josh Healey for District 10.
Tomorrow is the first day of voting! If you believe in working together to build a stronger Lunenburg County, choose Josh Healey for District 10. I'll be at Lunenburg Farmers' Market tomorrow from 8 until 9 a.m. if you want to chat. You can reach me at 902-298-2216 or [email protected].
Voting starts Thursday! Make sure you've got your voter card.
Fantastic job by Bridgewater Area Chamber of Commerce putting together this debate. Looking forward to the audio.
Our current council has done a fantastic job cleaning up the LaHave River through their straight pipe replacement program. Both the federal and provincial governments kicked in millions, resulting in over 200 replacements to date. But the municipality doesn't end at the LaHave.... If elected, I promise to work with council to: 1) Ensure the study analyzing septic issues in Garden Lots is completed and the report brought to council. 2) Explore funding options for a Lunenburg County Straight Pipe Replacement Program. The work that's been done along the LaHave could benefit other communities in the municipality. We need to push so that everyone has a chance at equal service.
Spent an amazing weekend talking to residents across District 10. From First Peninsula to Big Tancook, I'm thrilled by the community's desire to build a better Lunenburg County. Let's do this together.
I had the pleasure of sailing under Captain Watson in 2016 and can't wait to read his story, amongst the many others, in Len Wagg's upcoming book Dispatches From a Nova Scotia Pandemic.
Let's talk climate change. The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) officially declared a climate emergency almost a year ago today, joining thousands of other government bodies across the world in saying "We have a problem." Sadly, that's how the conversation often ends on climate change. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to proactively think about and act on climate change in every decision we make.... If elected, I promise to work with council to: 1) Update MODL's Climate Change Action Plan as it was adapted in 2013. The municipality also joined Partners for Climate Protection last year; we need to work at lowering our GHG emissions and fighting climate change by setting targets, sharing them publicly and holding ourselves accountable. 2) Learn from within our community and explore new ideas. The Town of Bridgewater has an internationally recognized energy program right next door that is scalable and makes use of new technologies. We need to learn from them and work to make energy upgrades more accessible to people across the municipality. 3) Listen to residents and their concerns as it relates to our environment. We need to have discussions around climate change and sustainable practices in every decision we make, be that a new municipal building or other projects. As always, email me at [email protected] or call 902-298-2216 for a chat. I look forward to hearing from you.
