Linda’s weekly message....... Gardeners, We're calling all weeders of any skill level - beginner, experienced, professional and never-weeded-before! We are well into the growing season which means: ... Weeders are needed!! For this week, Matt says the priority focus is on carrots, beets, turnip, lettuce and spinach. If we don't get these rows weeded, we will lose the vegetables. Let's not let that happen! No experience needed, as there are other areas to weed that are not as difficult. The garden is in really good shape thanks to all who have been able to help in any way so far. Yes, there's still lots to do, so if you haven't made it yet, don't be shy! Come any time and join us whenever you can! If there is a time you would like to come, let us know and we'll have a weeding party!! By the way, you'll be happy to know most of the thistles have been uprooted! Let us know if you have any questions. See you in the garden! Linda ps: You'll find me in the carrots tomorrow morning. THIS WEEK IN THE COMMUNITY GARDEN!! Gardeners, Well, the tilling party was a success last Thursday thanks to all who were there! ... This week, Matt says it's a weeding and rock picking party set for Tuesday at 1:00pm and going into the evening. So, come when you can and join the party! You can also weed and rock pick other times as well as there's no shortage of weeds or rocks. Find a buddy and pick a time for weeding and rock picking together. Happy Canada Day Eve, Gardeners! This week in the garden... The lawns on each end of the garden need to be mowed. As mentioned last week, a lawn mower will need to be transported to the garden as there isn't one available on site.... Weeding time has begun. (You'll probably see this particular item every week now. ) Wednesday afternoon, 1:00pm - Tilling Party! Matt and Miller Esson will be tilling the garden. If anyone else has a walk-behind tiller, come join the party. For the rest, it would be great if you could come and do the fine-tune weeding...which will continue for the rest of the growing season. If you have any question about what is plant and what is weed, be sure to ask so as to not pull veggies by mistake. DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?? That’s right... IT’S PLANTING TIME!!!!... Planting tomorrow!!! Who can help me??? According to the new regulations, we can have 50 or fewer. So, person number 51, you’ll have to come another time. But the rest of you.... please show up!! I will be in the garden at 9:00am tomorrow morning. Anyone want to join me while keeping 2 metres away from me?? There’s lots to do! And with a garden over 3/4 an acre, we can easily physically distance!!
