Just a reminder there will be yoga tomorrow with me at K2! :. I just finished the most incredible book about the power of meditation and yoga to impact our health. :. The book was called The Last Best Cure by Donna Jackson Nakazawa and it touched on some of the science healing. Here’s a few gems I learned:... -if we can focus on our breath for just 12 seconds, our brain begins to enter a state of concentration and we can actually change the pathways in our brain -stress activates a cascade in our body that taxes our immune system in a way that’s similar to a virus or bacteria -a regular yoga practice impacts how our body responds to stressful stimuli -yoga increases blood flow to areas of our brain responsible for healing us. To paraphrase, taking care of our mind, and our stress is vital to our health and well being. Not just something nice to do, but something that will help us live healthier, happier, longer lives. Incredible!

I’ll be teaching a pop up yoga class at K2 Cross training on August 2nd at 10:30am. Feel free to drop in, or if you are a K2 member you can register on Zenplanner. All levels welcome. Just bring a yoga mat if you have one, and wear comfortable clothing.
