If you’ve driven by the corner of Queen and Wellington in downtown Chatham, you may have noticed some construction going on. We are currently renovating two buildings. This one is located at 146 Wellington, right next to the post office. We are almost complete on the outside and then have some minor renovations on the main floor to do. Here is a picture of how it currently looks, followed by a picture of before we started. Things are coming along. Retirement Alert! What a amazing office manager we have had all these years! Although we are so sad to see you leave us, we cant help but remember all the good times and memories we have made together over the past decades. Peggy Nydam has been a cornerstone in our company and we will be lost without her. We wish you all the best and Gods blessings on this next step in your life. You have always lived, laughed and loved during your career and we are sure you will continue to do so into your retirement. Thanks for everything Peggy and God Bless!

Thank you Chatham Daily News for the wonderful article. We are humbled by all the kind words from everyone lately. We have an amazing group of men and women in our company and it shows! Restoring old buildings is a passion of ours and we hope to continue for years to come. Thanks to all our subtrades for all your help, we couldnt do it without you!... Although we miss Albert Horneman every day, Im sure hes proud of his family. Ron Nydam has done an excellent job leading this company along with his nephews at his side. Peggy and Wendy have been working hard with us every step of the way. Lastly our employees...they have worked hard and have made this company a fun and diverse place and have become part of our family. Thank you employees! On top of this we are actually renovating the building right next door to it at the same time! . This building located at 85 Queen street, is well under way of getting a total makeover. Originally built in the late 1800s, it has seen many changes over the years in Downtown Chatham. We are happy to be giving it a fresh face and cant wait to see the end result! Just finished pouring the concrete for the new Sons of Kent patio! A delicious SOK craft beer on this new patio would really hit the spot this afternoon.,unfortunately we dont think the concrete is dry enough .

The frame is coming up! Our brand new drive in service bay is shaping very nicely. Keep up the great work Jp Contractors !

What a project this was! The before and after transformation was amazing. Designed by our own office, we think they hit this one right on the mark! We had the best group of people to work with! What a blessing to have such good companies around in our area, we would have never realized this without them. A big shout out to Y.C. Probably almost 20 years ago we did this building. (Pyramid Construction which is the P of JP). Still one of our favorite renovations that we did in Chatham. Glad to see its getting some new tenants and new flooring too by the looks of it!

Here we are doing renovations at Sons of Kent once again! They have been growing like crazy since we helped them with their original renovations! Always a great time with the lovely people at Sons of Kent. Maybe after all our hard work is done we can sit down and have a pint with them too! This is a short movie showing what work was happening over a weeks time. This project took place in Chatham Ontario. It was a very challenging, yet exciting project. We had a lot of fun working with the owners of Retro Suites to help make their dreams a reality. Like the rest of Retro Suites, this building was meant to in...spire and excite. In this particular job we had to use our innovation to transform the existing old building into what it is today. The hardest part of this job was to build an entire new structure inside the existing building. The owner wanted to keep the history and beauty of the original façade. The only way to do this was to build the new structure inside the old one, tie the front wall into this new structure and demo the old building from the inside. It was a great project and we worked with a lot of great people. Thanks to all of our employees and sub trades, and thank you to the owners and colleagues of Retro Suites for the opportunity. We have always enjoyed working on many different parts of Retro Suites and wish you great success with your newest rooms. See more
