A professional travel agent/advisor/consultant makes it their business to know what is going on in the world, and what the rules and regulations are. So how do you choose someone to work with? 1. You can tell a lot about someone by their social media presence. Find someone who’s personality seems to be in line with yours. Reach out to someone who you think you would enjoy talking to. 3. Make sure the agency is registered with the TICO - Travel Industry Council of Ontario (or your local tourism governing body). The TICO number will be listed on the website and social media platforms, by law. 4. Find an agent with experience in your type of travel. If you are taking your family to Disney World for the first time, an agent that specializes in expedition cruises to the Arctic might not be the best match for you. Many agents specialize in a certain travel niche or a destination Be sure to ask your potential agent what types of travel they specialize in to see if it is a good fit. 5. Credentials.
