Quite the delayed response on my part to the post of some of the costumes we have in store this year. I should have posted awhile ago, but I've been feeling kinda unmotivated lately; I'm sure many of you know what I mean. A few #jqfriends suggested I read about #mycultureisnotacostume costume and I did. I learned a lot, a lot about how it can be hurtful to people.The culturally insensitive costumes were pulled at that time. My number one goal for JQ is that it is a safe space for everyone, and I apologize if I made anyone uncomfortable. I just wasn't thinking - which in no way excuses it. I won't make this insensitive mistake again. And I thank my #jqfriends for caring enough about us and what we do here to guide me in my journey.
