Another great session flew by! Its highlight was the prize store, and here's more on what happened in each class: Morah Chana Baila: We drew pictures of ourselves. We then talk about what we see in the mirror, we all have external and internal body parts that we know of, but also a very special part our Neshama, our Jewish soul that is a part of Hashem inside us. The Neshama shines brighter with light every time we do a Mitzvah We played a partnership matching game, and reali...zed that our Neshama also has a partner- our body, which is something special Hashem gave each of us. We did an experiment with a lava lamp, to see that every time we drops in another Mitzvah, it’s like the Neshamah and the body are happy and dancing. The kids asked for instructions so that they can do it again at home: In a cup put a mostly oil and a little water with a few drops of food colouring (think 4/5th oil and the rest water). Break up the Alka-seltzer tablets (they brought one home) into small pieces and put in one at a time, watch to see what happens We learned the letter Daled. We sang Hokey pokey and said the body parts in Hebrew Great Job Evan on bringing back your Mitzvah missions and washing your hands every day in the morning! Everyone can still get prizes for bringing back the Mitzvah missions next week. Morah Chayale: This week we learnt that every single Jew has a Neshama, a part of Hashem inside of us. We also learnt that by uniting our body and Neshama through doing Mitzvot we make ourselves into a mini Beit Hamikdosh, home for Hashem. We also played a really fun game of live bop it with Mitzvah actions! We made a memoji of ourselves and are bringing it home with a paper where we can write down when we make ourselves into a home for Hashem throughout this week, by doing a Mitzvah. If we bring it back next week filled up, we will get a prize! We moved along with the Hebrew reading, and with the language: we know how to introduce ourselves, say where we’re from and can already have short conversations. New words learned: Mi, Hu, Hi, Yofi, Lehitraot Bar Mitzvah Club: We continued on with the principle of faith, getting to know G-d, believing and having Faith in G-d. We made origami airplanes and competed flying them the farthest, to demonstrate how Hashem is constantly providing energy to the world, just like an airplane needs constant energy to stay in the sky. We also discussed why G-d created a physical world which He wants to reside in. We finished off with a minute to win it game! JewQ championship: We’re welcoming and wishing much luck to our JewQ contestants: Jacob, Liel, Sophie and Nir It’s not too late to become a contestant, contact me if you’re interested.

Here is what happened in each class this past Wednesday's session: Our grades SK-5 will cover this year My Jewish Home curriculum. The first unit is The Foundation A home for Hashem, Jewish Identity, Jewish Name, Family my roots. Each class learns is with different age appropriate activities.... Morah Chana Baila Judaic: We built our own unique houses and discussed what makes a house our special home and how Hashem created the world so that we can make for Him a home in it. We reviewed the Mitzvot that we can do inside our home to make it a home for Hashem. We made a door sign for our bedroom door and put on the Mitzvot we can do at home this week. A chart was sent home for the parents to fill out what Mitzvah we did each day. When we bring it back filled we will get a prize. Hebrew: We learnt letter Gimmel and the Hebrew words starting with it: Gerev, Geshem, Galgal, Glida. We started reading skills and learnt the first vowel Kamatz and connecting it to a letter. Morah Chayale Judaic: We learnt all about making a home for Hashem in this world. We had a discussion about what a home is and realized that there are many things that we would only do in our own home, not even our closest friend's home! So how do we make this world a home for Hashem? By doing Mitzvot :) We started making our own origami house with different things inside which we need to make our home into a home for Hashem! Hebrew: We continued on with Alef Champ. We started our conversational Hebrew curriculum by Chalav U’dvash. With interactive games and discussions we learned these new words, and can already have conversations with them: Shalom, Ani, Ata, At, Naim Meod, Lo, Achshav Bar Mitzvah Club We welcomed 2 new friends Koby and Bryan Reuven! We are now learning the 13 principles of faith, we started with the first 2 which are believing in G-d’s one-ness, and G-d as the creator of everything. We discussed this fundamental subject with questions/answers and a story. We are all progressing with our Hebrew reading, gearing up to practice reading our Torah portion. Grades 3-7 children (including Bar Mitzvah Club) were presented the JewQ international championship program and are eager to participate! Enjoy the pictures!
