In a new article published by Eagle Feather News, JSGS Lecturer Kurtis Boyer says he believes the conduct of voters and candidates in this MN-S election will be very different. It's an election where the citizens can vote for something in a positive way. Citizens can vote for a platform or a direction on the nation-building project that the MN-S is currently undertaking. With the self-government agreement with the federal government, the MN-S has been doing something no other Metis government has done before. There's a direction that people can vote for. https://www.eaglefeathernews.com//leadership-of-indigenous

Late on the night of January 6th, in the aftermath of the first violent occupation of the US Capitol in more than 200 years, 145 members of the US Congress implicitly validated the insurrection by voting to disallow Pennsylvania’s certified electoral votes. The political logic underlying this shockingly cynical display is that polls subsequently revealed that almost half of Republican voters supported the siege on the Capitol while earlier polls indicated that 78 per cent of ...Republicansalmost 60 million Trump votersdid not believe that Biden’s election was legitimate. Plainly, this cannot be dismissed as a fringe phenomenon. How can it be that a substantial fraction of the American population has become disconnected from the basic reality on which democratic governance depends? In the latest issue of JSGS Policy Brief, Peter Nicholson, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy for the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, and former inaugural President of the Council of Canadian Academies, seeks to provide an answer and, on that basis, to suggest the outline of a policy agenda to fulfill Joe Biden’s pledge to heal America. https://www.schoolofpublicpolicy.sk.ca//how-joe-biden-can- #cdnpoli #skpoli University of Saskatchewan | University of Regina
