Lessons are available for all ages and levels in a positive, nurturing, and structured environment. Her commitment as an educator is to maintain quality standa...rds and to provide students with functional skills and an appreciation of music. In addition to a foundational and methodological approach to teaching, programme offerings can also include music festival, RCM exam and university audition preparation. With extensive training in the field of piano pedagogy and a continuous commitment to ongoing professional development, she aims for a high level of fresh and innovative teaching. Whether you desire to become a professional pianist or play for enjoyment, Jacqueline can help custom-tailor a programme to help you meet your goals. Jacqueline is a Registered Music Teacher (RMT), a Certified Teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM Advanced Specialist), and an Examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. As a member of the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators’ Association, she has adjudicated for over 50 music festivals across Atlantic and Central Canada since 2000. She is currently Director of Music at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown and freelances as a Collaborative Artist for local professional musicians, students and choirs. In addition to 30 years of private teaching experience, she also concurrently taught at the UPEI Music Department for 19 years as a Sessional Lecturer from 1994-2013 and at Holland College's School of Performing Arts for 2 years as a Piano Instructor from 2018-20. Her private students' successes have also garnered her Gold Medal Teacher certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music on multiple occasions, awarded for having students achieving the highest mark in their level of their piano exam in the four Atlantic Canadian Provinces within a full calendar year. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Prince Edward Island. As a Charter Member of The Prince Edward Island Music Teachers’ Association, Jacqueline has served in several executive positions since 1995, including: President, Past-President, Registrar, Public Relations Officer, and Delegate to the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations. She has been actively serving as Treasurer of the PEIRMTA since 2014.

These spaces would be particularly well-suited for retired adults, or adults with flexible work schedules who are able to commit to a weekly piano lesson during regular business hours. Some of my favourite notes include the following: "This global pandemic has certainly changed our world, but those of us in music are lucky to have an escape from time to time and a way to bring hope to ourselves and others." "Thank you for a wonderful year of music." "Thank you so much for making this year full of joy and music. No easy task in 2020!" and "I appreciate your presence. Your music touches my heart strings. Your beautiful personality lights up the place too." I am looking forward to a fantastic year of music-making in 2021!

Today's good news story from the JSY Piano Studio: A former piano student's father just called me for advice on how to move their family piano into their daughter's home in another province! After teaching her for almost a decade, she graduated from my studio in 2003, 17 years ago!!! So I am so delighted to know that piano is still important in her world! This is so heart-warming!

I got my ticket for this upcoming concert! So excited to hear a live performance at the Homburg Theatre, with socially-distanced seating!
