Barn beam mantle made for a lovely lady in Saint John to go with her new living room renovation. Two coats of a light grey semi transparent stain to go with her fireplace and accents. Lesson learned is for customers to allow for distance and position of studs when mounting the brackets as the original 48 mantle was too short for her carpenter to mount and another mantle had to be supplied and installed by me to replace the first one

Some of my customers barn beam fireplace mantle installations they have shared photos of with me. The beams all have their own unique character, whether they are sanded natural, oiled, shellaced or varnished. Their 100 years of being hidden in the barn lets them show their true patina colours when displayed above the fireplace. Hand hewn by local NewBrunswick farmers out of various types of woods available to them on the farm, a great way to display our heritage.... Standard and custom sizes of rustic barn board frames

This project was to create a display table for an upscale men's clothing store ( Peter Roberts for Men) on York St. In Fredericton with two vintage Singer Treadle machines and a live edge hemlock top 36" X 72" to display clothing at the front of the store. The customer wanted to incorporate the theme of Singers long lasting quality machines into the clothing he is selling...great store and staff.

Pair of 24" X 84" closet doors for mounting on the barn style tracks by the customer on Grand Manan Island. Made from 3" barn board with a 3" frame. Created from a pattern the customer sent and turned out quite nicely.

Recycle/ Repurpose those small scraps of barn board into display boards for my collections... I made up one for my small oilers and another for Dad’s old screwdrivers... I made up a bunch for Rob a while ago and he displayed his old wrenches on... I just need time to mount and display my treasures...

Some recent work...

Floating shelves from rustic barn board available in many sizes to suit customers needs. Black iron pipe and fittings in photo's available from hardware stores or through JT Mattison Lumber Recycling. In the forth photo, Customer in Fredericton just ordered 8" wide in 20" and 30" lengths with a support for displaying dishes in an oil finish.

Just received a new shipment of hand hewn beams that came out of an old farm house up in Fredericton. Non-dimensional but roughly 7" Wide by 4.5" thick and lengths to 8'. These beams are available while they last and to eight foot in length, cleaned up and sanded ( first photo) or finished in several options. (Second photo). Third photo show two beams side by side that have been trimmed on three sides to form a 12" wide X 77.5" long mantle for a customer in Moncton. The seam ...barely shows and has been sanded to the customers request. The 4.5" depth of the mantle is just right, not too narrow and not too overbearing. Latest custom frame order for six 26" X 8" barn board frames for customers art work he paints on glass and thinks these frames will really bring out his artwork... Alan sent a photo of one of his pieces framed... nice Custom framing for others is very rewarding to see their excitement of the finished product.
