Our Online Learning program will not accept new enrollments for Kindergarten to Grade 9 students after Friday, September 18. Grade 10-12 students will also no l...onger be able to enroll in Quint 1 courses after the 18th. If Grade 10-12 students are interested in taking an online course in Quint 2 (Oct. 30-Dec. 22), they can use the registration form on our website: http://www.nwsd.ca//Online%20Learning%20Schedule%2010-12.p See more
First week is a wrap! It was great to be back with friends, visiting with the kids, and seeing the growth they’ve experienced in the last (almost) 6 months! N...ext week, the library is going mobile so that the students can still get their hands on some great books . Have a fabulous weekend!!!! See more
Week one is in the books! We are so happy to have our students back in the classroom. Thank you to all our staff, students and families for a great first week. We are so proud of our students for how they have adapted to the school safety measures.
Love our Pre-K bus drivers
We’re very excited to see our students tomorrow. When students arrive in the morning, instead of coming into the school, they will be meeting their teachers at their muster points outside the school. But don’t worry, there will be staff to help students find their classes. Signs will be posted as well. Students will enter the school when the morning bell rings at 8:55 with their classes one at a time. This way we can ensure our classes can stay as cohorts which is a very important and different precaution we have to take this year. Remember, students with last names starting with A to L will be the first group attending tomorrow. We’ll see the other half of our students on Wednesday. See you in the morning.
We are excited to see our students next week! Your teacher will be waiting for you outside on your first day back!
We've been working hard to prepare for the new school year, and there are some important changes parents and caregivers need to know about. This video highlights some of the safety measures and changes that will be in place when school starts on September 8th.
To help us better plan and prepare for instruction in September we ask families let us know as soon as possible if their children will not return to school by completing the form linked here. Please complete this form if your child WILL NOT be attending in-person classes on September 1st. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
Jubilee parents, we will do our best to communicate with you, over the coming days, helpful information to help transition your child back into school. More information to come as we develop further details of our school re-open plan.
Jubilee's office will be open on August 25. If you have a child that will be entering Kindergarten and you haven't registered yet, you can do so by clicking on the link below. Completed registration forms can be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off with Mrs. Roy at the front office next week. http://www.nwsd.ca//Student%20Registration%20Form%202020-2
While NWSD is committed to a re-opening safety plan that meets the requirements of the provincial guidelines and recommendations of the Chief Medical Health Off...icer to ensure student and staff well-being, we understand that some families will choose not to send their children to school this fall. To help us better plan and prepare for instruction in September we ask families let us know as soon as possible if their children will not return to school by completing the form linked below. Please complete this form if your child WILL NOT be attending in-person classes on September 8th. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been listening to concerns from students, parents and teachers about returning to school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our gover...nment hears you. We’re acting by investing an additional $40 million so that more resources are available for safe classrooms. The start of the school year will start on the Tuesday after Labour Day, September 8th, to provide teachers and school staff more time to prepare. And we’re adding an aggressive new testing strategy focused on voluntary testing for teachers and students. I’m looking forward to providing more details and answering questions about this on Monday. But for now, I wanted you to know we are listening and we are acting.

MEADOW LAKE FAMILIES: It's time to register for in-town busing. As part of our safety precautions we will be limiting the number of students able to ride, as we... require an assigned seating plan. If your child will not ride the bus at least 50% of the time, please DO NOT register. *To accommodate a seating plan and depending on the number of riders registering, the division may adjust the current eligibility distances to ride. Registration forms are available online here: https://www.nwsd.ca//AP%20551-2%20MEADOW%20LAKE%20BUS%20TR Or at the NWSD Meadow Lake office. See more
NWSD has updated our re-open plan. Please see the letter on our website for additional details. The picture below highlights some of the safety measures that will be implemented in our schools. https://www.nwsd.ca/Pages/newsitem.aspx
The NWSD Board of Education will be meeting tomorrow, along withdivision administration, to review and update our safety plan with the latest recommendations fr...om the province and health authority. As we say "Have a good summer" to our students, we also say "Farewell" to our Grade 4s. In September as they were learning about Growth Mindset, they sang "Strive for the Highest." Throughout the year we saw them grow and try to do and be their best every day. We'll miss you and we know you'll do amazing next year!
This year we weren't able to celebrate National Indigenous People's Day as we did last year in the park, but we do want to acknowledge the Indigenous history, culture and language that our students were able to learn about throughout the school year. We look back on what was surely a highlight of last year when we came together as a school to celebrate and look forward to when we can do that again.
Today's activity will get you ready for Sunday so you can show someone special in your life just how much you love them. There is a card, poster and little gif...t in your package to share with your special someone on Sunday. Grab those crayons today and get coloring! Have a wonderful weekend friends. See more
Playgrounds are open! We are so excited for our families who have been looking forward to using our outdoor play equipment. Please remember that we rely on Moth...er Nature to clean playgrounds and NWSD is unable to sanitize equipment. Please follow the provincial recommendations for social distancing and frequent hand-washing. See more
I love singing songs that remind me of summer camp and camping at this time of year. Here’s a Down by the Bay sing along for you! If you already sent in your Down by the Bay challenge from your package, listen carefully and you might hear your rhyme!
Book clubs, phone calls, video chats and package deliveries.. It’s safe to say this has been a unique time of learning, but those smiles say it all.. we miss your kiddos!
The Rattlin’ Bog is one of my all time favourite folk songs! Last year, Mrs. Haggerty’s class helped draw pictures of each of the things in the bog to help us remember the words. Try not to get tongue tied!!
Mrs. Daognham has been busy! What have you been doing lately? Comment below with some pictures, we would love to see!
Planning is underway for the next school year and we want to hear from Parents/Caregivers and our Students. Please complete our online survey to share your thoughts and feedback about supplemental learning and help us prepare for fall. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
This might be my favourite instrument yet! I love my ocean drum, and I can’t wait to give away the one I made! Send your choice boards to Mrs. G by Friday (email or Kid Messenger works best!) and you will be entered into the draw to win an instrument! We still have the wind chime, ocean drum, tube shakers, rain stick, guiro and castanet up for grabs! I may even do extra draws for our last draw to give away all the instruments, so you will want your name in there as many times as possible!
Keep your eyes open for the Pre-K team!
Wow! Did you know you could grow vegetables this way?
Just popping by to give you a sneak peak at the new instrument being added to the options for the choice board draw and a how to for one of the choice board challenges! The pictures and videos of you singing and dancing are fabulous as always! The draw will be on June 8
Mrs. Giesbrecht's husband, who is Carpenter High's band teacher, orchestrated a wonderful piece that shows his wonderful talent. We encourage you to sit down and give yourself a moment of pause to enjoy this. Well done Mr. Giesbrecht. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF0nGAkzvWE
Play outside or play inside! You can find fun and learning anywhere!
Parents, you are truly superheroes in our eyes, you have taken on a lot of extra and unexpected work lately. If you are struggling and need advice or are doing well and just want a new perspective, consider this free 1 hour session that the City of Lloydminster is hosting.
